Councilman Bury questioned whether Southern Pacific maintained or provided <br />parking spaces in any other cities and was advised of only one area located <br />in San Bruno where property under joint ownership, that Southern Pacific <br />participated in maintenance. Motion lost on roll call vote, Councilmen Hen- <br />derson and Keckley voting yes, Councilmen Bury, Granger, Petersen, Rosselli <br />and Mayor Herkner voting no. <br />Councilman Keckley made motion that City Attorney be directed to start direct <br />action in amending Ordinance that would require Southern Pacific to furnish a <br />certain number of parking spaces in Redwood City, as required of other businesses, <br />seconded by Councilman Rosselli. Councilman Bury felt it would be better <br />policy of Council to ask that City Manager and City Attorney make a recommen- <br />dation after further investigation. <br />Councilman Keckley withdrew his original motion and moved that City Attorney <br />and City Manager report back to Council with their recommendations within <br />thirty days (May 22nd), seconded by Councilman Bury. Councilman Henderson <br />moved to amend the motion to require immediate repair of the parking lot. <br />Mayor Herkner ruled the amendment not applicable to the main motion, which <br />carried on roll call vote, Councilmen Bury, Henderson, Keckley, Petersen and <br />Mayor Herkner voting nes, Councilmen Granger and Rosselli voting no. <br />(MINUTE ORDER 67-74A) <br />Councilman Henderson moved that Staff report to Council in one or two weeks, <br />whether City could get a $1.00 per year lease and make temporary repairs, <br />seconded by Granger and carried on roll call vote, Councilmen Granger, Hender- <br />son, Keckley and Mayor Herkner voting yes, Councilmen Bury, Petersen & Rossel]i <br />voting no. It was also reported that McGuire & Hester had been <br />the apparent low bidder when bids were opened, but in checking of bids an <br />error in addition had been found in the bid submitted by Dean C.
