City Clerk noted review of the bid had changed total bid of Power <br />Construction, Inc., because of an error in arithmetic, but that this bid not <br />affect the low bid. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION N0, 5352 AWARDING CONTRACT OF RED- <br />WOOD CREEK CHANNEL IMPROVEMENTS, UPTON STREET TO JEFFERSON AVENUE, GENERAL <br />IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT 1-65, PROJECT SD -12; REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED; <br />AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACT FOR SAID WORK; AND DIRECTING RETURN OF SECURITY <br />DEPOSITS, seconded by Councilman Petersen. <br />Councilman Henderson commented on the number of bids less than Engineer's esti- <br />mate. Mayor Herkner asked if a back -log of funds was being accumulated as a <br />result of this favorable bidding. City Manager advised of the fine work being <br />done by City Attorney's office in acquiring property at low cost and that GID <br />funds are in good shape. Motion carried on roll call vote. <br />Report of Legislative Committee made by Councilman Rosselli, Chairman, on the <br />following: <br />1. Gas Tax Fund allocations. Recommendation for opposing legislation <br />proposed to change traditional distribution. <br />2. Collier -Unruh Transportation Act amendments - recommendation to reaffirm <br />Council's previous position. <br />3. Obscenity legislation. Recommendation that bills be supported which are <br />proposed for further definition and prohibiting matter that is harmful <br />to children (Senate Bills 78 and 79 be endorsed) <br />4. Pre-emption. Recommendation to support all of bills being proposed as a <br />step in the right direction. <br />Councilman Bury moved to accept report of the Committee, seconded by Councilman <br />Keckley. <br />Mayor Herkner reported Council of Mayors had been presented with a Resolution <br />concerning junking of cars which had been discussed and opposed by the group <br />and proposed recommendations had been dropped. Mayor Herkner asked that recommen- <br />dations approved by Council be directed to legislative representatives involved. <br />Motion carried. (MINUTE ORDER #67-78) <br />Petition of Lawrence Brian, on behalf of Arne Falk for exception to the Subdivision <br />Ordinance, to permit a 35' street frontage on Lot 1, Falk Industrial Tract, pre- <br />sented for consideration. Planning Commission recommended Council grant the <br />following exception: <br />That lot 1 have a street frontage of 35 feet instead of 50 <br />feet of frontage required by the Subdivision Ordinance and <br />Zoning Ordinance; and <br />subject to the exception being authorized, that the Tentative <br />Map be approved, subject also to the following conditions: <br />ft 1 'Y7 <br />
