having been acquired by the hospital.
Staff concurred in recommendation for proposed rezoning to PO with the T -Com-
bining District to be deleted on the convalescent hospital as serving no pre-
sent use. Councilman Granger asked whether annexation of this hospital area
to City had effected any changes in their operations.
City Attorney advised zoning by City did not affect use of property, any other
additional uses not subject to zoning which might be granted because of pavers
vested in the hospital in a governmental capacity as a District. Councilman
Keckley moved to close the public hearing, seconded by Councilman Bury and
carried.
Councilman Keckley moved to introduce Ordinance adding Section 60.2.25 to
Ordinance No. 1130, the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance, rezoning property in
the vicinity of Upland Road, Whipple Avenue and Alameda de las Pulgas, seconded
by Councilman Granger and carried, Councilman Petersen being noted absent.
Councilman Petersen entered the meeting at 8:00 p.m.
Mrs. Dorothy P. Wienholz, 2719 Whipple Avenue, asked that
she be allowed to state her protest for allowing of either
commercial or medical offices being constructed in the
Sequoia Hospital area, because of parking problems now
present and which would be compounded with additional
business offices.
Councilman Rosselli stated he understood that the medical offices proposed
were to have underground parking facilities. City Manager further reviewed
the intent of the rezoning that had been just authorized for conforming the
hospital area to proper City zoning and that no construction improvements
were involved.
Councilman Bury asked if Traffic Engineer could investigate the parking faci-
litites in this area and report if any recommendation should be made. (Memo
5/16/67)
Proposed Brochure for Series B, District 1-64, Bond Sale Presentation.
City Manager stated Council had been presented with copies of final draft of
Official Statement for Series B Bond Sale to consist of $930,000 of Reclama-
tion Bonds and $1,645,000 of Facilities Bonds, making a total of $2,575,000.
He also stated copies of the following letters had been submitted to Council
indicating that Leslie Salt Co. and Leslie Properties, Inc., would make
available certain sums of money to the District as established in the guide-
lines for the District:
May 5, 1967
"Attention: Howard C. Ullrich,
City Manager and District Manager
Dear Mr. Ullrich:
I have reviewed the 1967-68 construction program of Redwood City
General Improvement District No. 1-64, which calls for the accom-
plishment of an estimated $5,384,000 of work, consisting of $3,860,000
reclamation and drainage work and $1,524,000 streets and other public
facilities.
Leslie Properties, Inc. will participate in the 1967-68 construction
program by performing $3,000,000 of the District's proposed reclama-
tion and drainage work, to be valued by the District Engineer.
Q9015'87
