7 rj
Councilman Petersen questioned color proposed for the repainting. Director of
Public Works advised proposed color to be the same as that used previously,
"sage green".
Mayor Herkner stated some discussion had been held considering possibility of liven-
ing up the colors for more attractiveness. Councilman Henderson asked how color is
determined. City Manager stated he was unaware how color originally chosen but
that Director of Public Works is now responsible for care and maintenance, which
would inherently also include the painting and refurbishing. He stated the main
point of painting would be to see that color blended into the background and land-
scaping in these residential areas, and probably originally painted green also for
this reason.
Councilman Henderson suggested Staff be encouraged to study new uses of color by
municipalities. Councilman Rosselli indicated this matter should be considered
only administratively, not as a Council concern. Councilman Petersen agreed this
matter is not for Council's total concern, but urged that Staff study new ideas in
these types of municipal facilities, such as material he had been shown by the City
Manager. Motion carried on roll call vote.
Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5363 APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF REROOFING OF 3.75 MILLION GALLON RESERVOIR AT CARSON WATER STA-
TION; AND, AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR, seconded by Council-
man Granger.
Staff report stated existing roofing on the reservoir was drying and cracking, and
that a replacement at this time would prevent storm or moisture damage to the wood
framing of the reservoir cover. Funds in the amount of $16,000 were reported to
have been authorized in the current budget and were available for this purpose.
Motion carried on roll call vote.
Request of William Kastelic, Jr., for an extension of Ninety (90) days to complete the
house moving from 949 Nob Hill Road, presented for consideration. Council was
advised Mr. Kastelic requests the extension of time since the delay in transfer of
title, plus the extended periof of bad weather, had made it impossible to keep
to the time schedule originally set out.
City Manager recommended extension of sixty (60) days be granted from the expira-
tion date of the permit (May 27th to July 27th) and that the Chief Building Inspector
concurred in the recommendation. Councilman Rosselli expressed his dissatisfaction
with delay in removal of this house from the slide area and felt reasons stated not
justifiable.
City Manager stated recommendation of Staff meant extension of time was for purpose
of completing house at the new site, as moving of house from present site would be
accomplished this week. He stated delay in moving house had been occasioned at the
new site in getting site prepared which had presented problems because of hillside
terrain.
Fav 1$ •a
