107 <br />City Manager advised that this residence was occupied by Mr. Morley Turner, <br />Mrs. Edythe Towler being owner of record. Motion carried. (MINUTE ORDER #67-118) <br />DAMAGE CLAIM of Noble Williams, Jr., by and through his Guardian ad litem, Noble <br />Williams, 551 -5th Ave., Redwood City, for personal injuries alleged to have been <br />caused by false arrest, denied and referred to insurance carried, on motion of <br />Councilman Petersen, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. (MINUTE ORDER <br />#67-119) <br />Councilman Henderson moved to introduce Ordinance amending Section 3.130 of Chapter 3 <br />of the Code of the City of Redwood City,relating to signs, seconded by Councilman <br />Keckley. Staff report stated ordinance would correct a clerical error in a cross <br />reference which was made in original ordinance. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Granger commented on an awning type sign he had observed on Broadway and <br />asked that this be investigated to see if it is in violation. (Memo 6/6/67) <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Town of Los Altos Hills regarding the possibility of prohibiting <br />trucks on the Junipero Serra Freeway, and referring to a similar <br />instance where this had been accomplished on the MacArthur Free- <br />way in Oakland. <br />Mayor Herkner asked this communication be referred to the Legislative Committee <br />for a report. (Memo 6/6/67) <br />Acknowledgment of appreciation from Mrs. Wm. Shackelford and <br />family for Council's expressions of sympathy extended to their <br />family in their recent bereavement. <br />City Council of San Carlos extending congratulations and best <br />wishes to the City of Redwood City on the occasion of its 100th <br />Centennial. <br />Councilman Keckley asked whether these communications regarding City's Centennial <br />to be preserved for posterity and was advised by City Clerk Mr. Schellens, City's <br />Historian, had discussed with her the possibility of keeping permanent records <br />of the occasion and suggested these could be referred to him. <br />Communication addressed to City Manager from the State Division <br />of Beaches and Parks announcing that City's application had <br />been approved for registration of the Union Cemetery as a Calif. <br />Historical Landmark. (Landmark No. 816) <br />Mayor Herkner asked that a copy of this communication be referred to the County <br />Historical Society and to the City's Historian. <br />Notice from City Librarian of proposed schedule for library ser- <br />vice at the Schaberg Branch during reconstruction period for <br />enlargement. <br />Councilman Petersen asked that this schedule be given to each Council member and <br />to the Tribune for publicity. (Memo 6/6/67) <br />Councilman Keckley suggested that a letter of acknowledgment and appreciation be sent <br />to Mr. Collie on behalf of Council for the Centennial gift medallions presented <br />to Board of Directors and celebrities at the Centennial Banquet. <br />(Memo 6/6/67) <br />Councilman Bury felt Council should take note of Public Employees Week coming soon by <br />some appropriate acknowledgement and moved such a type of resolution be prepared <br />for adoption commending employees, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried. <br />(MINUTE ORDER #67-120) <br />Councilman Henderson questioned status of SP parking lot report which she had hoped <br />would be made within the last two weeks.
