See City Clerk's File - Council Legislative Committee) <br />Councilman Rosselli asked that recommendations be submitted to legislators directly <br />by the Committee if report and recommendations as submitted were approved by Council. <br />City Attorney was asked whether he had reviewed proposed legi-slation and concurred <br />with Committee's recommendation, He advised Council had had met with the Legisla- <br />tive Committee and did concur in recommendations made, Councilman Keckley moved <br />to accept report and recommendation of the Legislative Committee as submitted and <br />authorization be given for Committee to personally contact State Legislators to <br />urge consideration be given to City's recommendations, seconded by Councilman Bury <br />and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #67-125) <br />Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5380 AUTHORIZING AMENDMENT TO CERTAIN <br />AGREEMENT APPROVED BY RESOLUTION NO. 5090 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY RELATING TO TERRACE HEIGHTS SUBDIVISION, (Mr. John Gull) seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Henderson. <br />Staff report stated present agreement for construction of improvements in this <br />Subdivision requires completion by June 30, 1967; that the developer has been unable <br />to complete the improvements for reasons beyond his control, and Staff concurred <br />in developer's request for an extension to June 30, 1968, subject to approval <br />of his bonding company. Motion carried on roll call vote. <br />Report of the Dumbarton Fire Protection District Committee (Councilman Petersen, Chairman <br />Councilman Petersen reviewed report submitted to Council members consisting of <br />correspondence which had been sent to the Board Members of this District, and fact <br />that no meeting had yet been possible although Staff and Committee had been avail- <br />able and had tried to effect such a meeting in order to discuss the renewal of <br />this contract, and that Board of Supervisors had been so advised. He reported, <br />however, he had successfully contacted Mr. Connors, Chairman of the Board, this <br />date and he had indicated his willingness to set a date for a meeting agreeable <br />to other Board Members. <br />Councilman Petersen stated because of the circumstances stated and need to re- <br />solve this problem before public hearing on the Budget, it was requested that <br />Council adopt Resolution authorizing execution of the new agreement, conditioned <br />upon District indicating its willingness to accept the terms prior to hearing on <br />the 1967-68 Budget set for next week, June 19th, otherwise Budget would have to <br />reflect the loss of this anticipated revenue of $47,000. He stated however, pre- <br />sent agreement would be effective until June 30, 1967, and provide the fire pro- <br />tection for this area to that date. <br />Questioned concerning effect to residents in area., or responsibility and liability <br />of City, should there be a lapse of contract, Councilman Petersen stated he believed <br />recourse would have to come from the County Board of Supervisors. <br />City Attorney advised City's liability would be only to the entity, not to resi- <br />dents of area, and if contract negotiation fails, City would not be responsible. <br />D 12 '6i <br />
