Port Commission: Budd Stevenson appointed to another term, Joseph <br />Dematteis appointed to the vacancy created by retiring member, <br />Norman S. Menifee. <br />Planning Commission: Ed Allen, Martin Mohr, and Bruce Wyckoff all <br />reappointed for additional term. <br />Architectural Review Committee: John H. Quinn reappointed to <br />another term. <br />Councilman Rosselli, as Chairman of the Legislative Committee, asked that this <br />Committee meet on Wednesday, June 21st, in the City Attorney's Office, '$:00 a.m., <br />as several legislative matters had been referred to them for review. <br />Councilman Rosselli, as a result of a note from City Manager regarding possibility of <br />Council cancelling the regular meeting of July 3rd, moved that this meeting be <br />cancelled and meeting be set for the 5th Monday, July 31st. After discussion on <br />possibility a quorum might not be present for this meeting, motion restated to <br />cancel meeting of July 3rd only, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: (MINUTE ORDER #67-136) <br />Redwood City -San Carlos -Belmont Board of Realtors, with an <br />attached petition signed by many realtor brokers and salesmen, <br />requesting a hearing before the Council to consider an amend- <br />ment to the Business License Ordinance pertaining to specific <br />revision of fees for real estate brokers and salesmen. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved that communication be acknowledged and referred to the <br />Council Business License Committee for consideration, seconded by Councilman Hender- <br />son and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #67-137) <br />Acknowledgment from Senator GeorgeMurphy of resolution sent by <br />Council requesting consideration be given to funding of Califor- <br />nia Harbor projects, and stating his support of appropriation <br />requested. <br />Robert J. Galet, owner of duplexes on Vera Avenue abutting property <br />on El Camino proposed for development by Firestone Tire & Rubber Co., <br />protesting variance which was granted to allow this development to <br />build to the property line, and urging this be referred back to the <br />Planning Commission. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved this communication be referred to Staff for review and <br />answer, seconded by Councilman Petersen. Councilman Henderson asked for a clari- <br />fication of motion as to whether intent was for a response to be made to Council <br />or Mr. Galet. Motion amended to clarify intent that Mr. Galet's communication be <br />answered and a report be made to Council. (MINUTE ORDER #67-138) <br />Notification from City of San Leandro of their Council's action in <br />approving a budget request to support "Young America", a group of <br />young citizens (age 13-21) representing cities throughout the Bay <br />Area, and urging Council's financial support, or a personal contri- <br />bution, to raise $50,000 for sanding this group to represent the <br />United States at Expo 167 in Montreal, Canada. <br />Vice -Mayor Bury commented on the fact that "youth in government" program no longer <br />maintained in Redwood City and felt it should be instituted again. Councilman <br />Rosselli requested that this matter be placed on Council's Agenda for the next <br />meeting (June 26th) for discussion of renewing this program. <br />Discussion following on the fact that school semester ended and it might take more <br />time to investigate how to renew this program.
