134 <br />program could again be activated in the City for participation of young people in <br />City government. Councilman Granger commented on the fact he felt Jr. College <br />students should also be indoctrinated to local government program. (Memo 6/20/67) <br />Councilman Keckley expressed the desire for a review of Zoning Ordinance with reference <br />to setback lines because of requests that had been recently granted to see if any <br />amendments might be desirable, and moved Planning Commission be asked to review <br />this subject. Councilman Rosselli referred to the liaison that had once been <br />established between Council and Commissions for meetings to discuss matters of <br />general concern, and felt the variance procedure might be a subject for a. general <br />discussion and meeting with the Planning Commission. <br />Councilman Keckley requested his motion be amended to include remarks of Council- <br />man Rosselli, and also that a review of height restrictions be included for dis- <br />cussion as the present restrictions may have become obsolete and need updating. <br />Councilman Henderson also asked that "0" Combining District be included with the <br />review now pending for PO Districts. Motion again restated to include request <br />for review by Planning Commission of Zoning Ordinance's setbacks, variance proce- <br />dures, height restrictions, and PO Combining District sections and any other points <br />the Planning Commission believes should be reviewed, and a request that a joint <br />meeting be planned. Motion seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />(MINUTE ORDER #67-139) <br />Vice -Mayor Bury stated policy of setting meetings of Council with various Commissions <br />YA-ks 'a <br />was in line with Mayor Herkner's recent remarks since conclusion of extra meetings <br />on Budget Study that this program be reinstituted. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Keckley. Bury, Floyd D. <br />Granger, Mary W. Henderson, Herbert G. Petersen, John S. Rosselli, Mayor Sidney D. <br />Herkner and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. Councilman Paul C. Keckley was noted absent. <br />Also noted present were City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, City Attorney Richard E. <br />Gardella, Assistant City Manager Henry V. Burget, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, Police <br />Chief William Faulstich, Planning Director Ken Schroeter, Director of Public Works <br />J. Louis Scherer, Auditor -Accountant Jack Ference, and Deputy City Clerk Marian <br />McCrindle. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to approve Minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 19, 19673 <br />as mailed, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried, <br />Loyalty Oaths administered by City Clerk and Certificates of Appointment presented to <br />the following by Mayor Herkner: Joseph Dematteis, newly appointed to the Port <br />Commission (Budd 0. Stevenson not present, reappointment to Commission)l Edward W. <br />
