141
proposed hospital, funds having been deposited by Kaiser and budgeted by the City
to cover the cost of this proposed work. Motion carried on roll call vote, Council-
man Keckley being noted absent.'
Councilman Rosselli, based on recommendation of the City Manager, and because of bene-
fits that will be derived by establishment of the College to the whole community,
moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5410 AMENDING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR REDWOOD CITY
WATER DEPARTMENT (PUBLIC SERVICES DEPT.) BY ADDING SECTION 3.1 THERETO RELATING TO
THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REDUCED RATE FOR COLLEGES LOCATED OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS,
seconded by Councilman Bury.
Staff reported this action would establish a rate of 39.5 cents per 100 cubic feet
of water delivered to Junior College at Canada Campus, details of the computation
of rate proposed having been submitted to Council by City Manager. (For full text
see City Clerk's File - College Site)
Matteo Fasanaro, Business Manager of the Junior College District,
commented on another milestone having been achieved with esta-
blishment of water rates to the Canada Campus, and on behalf of
the District, extended their appreciation to Council and City
Staff for cooperation which had been extended.
Motion carried on roll call vote, Councilman Keckley being noted absent.
Councilman Petersen left the meeting at 8:59 for five minutes.
Acceptance of Marina Parking Lot. (Fay Improvement Co., Contractor) approved on
motion of Councilman Bury, seconded by Councilman Henderson, as recommended by
Staff, subject to the usual one-year guarantee of workmanship and materials.
Councilman Bury, Chairman of Marina Committee reported correction of deficiencies
had been made in the parking lot. Staff report also included a review of the pro-
ject and delays which had been caused due to rain and wet ground. It was also
stated the type of terrain in the parking lot made correction of "puddling" diffi-
cult also, but it was agreed the contractor had corrected the situation as far as
possible. Motion carried. (MINUTE ORDER #67-141)
Councilman Henderson moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5411 APPROVING REVISION OF CERTAIN
SUBDIVISION MAP AND SUBDIVISION AGREEMENT APPROVED AND ACCEPTED BY RESOLUTION NO.
5025 ADOPTED MAY 9, 1966, JEFFERSON TERRACE SUBDIVISION, seconded by Councilman
Granger.
Staff report stated ownership of property in this Subdivision no longer in the
name of Challstrom Builders, but in the names of James W. and Marjorie Challstrom,
Marshall and Ruby Seagraves, necessitating revision of record ownership certificate
on the Final Map and a conformance of the Improvement Agreement to also show the
new owners.
Discussion held as to whether a time limit could be set for completion of develop-
ment of this subdivision, because of past experience of repeated delays, in spite
of recognizing fact financing problems have been difficult. It was also noted that
action had been necessary to advise owners of property to clear the unsightly debris
which had been an annoyance to surrounding residents.
Mr. James W. Challstrom appeared to state financing was now
possible and it was their intention to proceed with development
of property as soon as possible. He also advised property had
been cleared of the debris.
In response to questioning as to whether plans for development had been
altered from those previously -submitted, Mr. Challstrom advised a Spanish theme
architecture was now proposed, which he would be willing to submit to
Council for approval. He also advised that five sewer and water in-
stallations had already been made to the subdivision prior to street
improvements, which were made shortly after Council's approval of
the subdivision, to eliminate cuts in the new street.
A Eq V?
