H. Royer, on behalf of
Mr. & Mrs. Harold Hinch.
City Manager advised Council that it would be economically feasible for City forces
to construct a sewer line along the west side of the Alameda between Edgewood Road
and Acacia Lane to serve property at 124 Alameda. He stated it was anticipated
that the City's cost for the construction of the line of $3,095 will be recouped
as those properties between Edgewood and the property to be served are developed.
At the present time he stated City could expect a minimum of three connections at
$950 each, or perhaps more, should one larger parcel be subdivided. He also
stated recommendation to grant the sewer connection to this line, if approved by
Council, was prepared subject to payment of connection fee of $950.00; basic con-
nection fee of $75.00; $500.00 annexation deposit, refundable if annexation occurs
within two years; plus outside sewer rates.
Wm. H. Royer, representing Mr. & Mrs. Hinch, stated conditions
imposed for granting sewer connection were acceptable to the
applicants, even though costs were more than had been anticipated.
Councilman Bury moved to accept Staff recommendation for approving the cost esti-
mate of sewer line proposed and authorize the work to be done by City forces,
seconded by Councilman Petersen. In response to questioning concerning the private
sewer line which had been previously mentioned in this area, City Manager stated the
new sewer line would be constructed and connected to other end of the street and
again described the private line from an illustrated chart. Motion carried.
(MINUTE ORDER #67-142)
Councilman Granger moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5412 GRANTING CONDITIONAL SEWER
CONNECTION PERMIT TO PREMISES SITUATE OUTSIDE CITY LIMITS PURSUANT TO SECTION
27.21.1 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND STATING CONDITIONS THEREON
(HINCH) seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried on roll call vote, Councilman
Keckley being noted absent.
Request for extension of time to complete Preliminary Architectural Studies Fire
Station, Jefferson Avenue at Highland Avenue, approved to August 1, 19bl, on
motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Rosselli.
Staff reported these services had been approved by agreement with William Sexton
on March 27, 1967, and were to have been completed by May 29, 1967. On ques-
tioning as to whether this delay might affect the time schedule for construction
of the fire station, City Manager advised funds budgeted for this construction are
in the 1967-68 Budget, so no schedule is as yet proposed.
He also stated preliminary plans had been submitted, but because this is the first
fire station planning since 1952, plans were being reviewed very carefully and had
already beensent back for changes and additions which will take time for architect
to complete.
