142 4< <br />and Staff for: (1) Seasonal Appointments (changing the maximum period of employ- <br />ment for seasonal help from six months to an equivalent number of hours (1040) <br />which will add flexibility to the administration of this program. (2) Overtime <br />(addition of a number of major assistants to the list of employees who are not <br />eligible for overtime compensation) <br />City Manager also reviewed revision of specifications for position of Janitor to <br />upgrade requirements, but that no salary increase is proposed as felt it was ade- <br />quate. This revision also not intended to affect present employees, but prepared <br />because of retirements expected in this classification in the near future. City <br />Manager also asked why revisions for "leave of absences" mentioned in an earlier <br />report had not been included in this report, and was advised problems had been <br />found in this item and had been deleted for further consideration. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5413 AMENDING SECTION 12, RULE X, <br />SECTION 21 RULE XII, AND SECTION 2, FULE XIII OF, AND ADDING SECTION 2.1 TO RULE <br />XII, OF, THE PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS RELATING TO SEASONAL APPOINTMENTS, <br />HOURS OF WORK AND LEAVES OF ABSENCE, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried <br />on roll call vote, Councilman Keckley being noted absent. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5414 APPROVING REVISED SPECI- <br />FICATIONS FOR POSITION OF JANITOR, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried on <br />roll call vote, Councilman Keckley being noted absent. <br />City Manager's recommendation for approval of 5th Step for Assistant City Manager. <br />report previously submitted to Council by City Manager recommending this action. <br />For full text see City Clerk's File - Personnel) <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to approve recommendation of City Manager for advance <br />to 5th Step of Assistant City Manager, seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried. <br />(MINUTE ORDER #67-144) <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1319 ADOPTING THE FINAL BUDGET OF THE <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 1967 --JUNE 303 1968; PROVIDING FOR <br />THE APPROPRIATION AND EXPENDITURE OF ALL SUMS SET FORTH IN SAID BUDGET; PROVIDING <br />FOR EMERGENCY EXPENDITURES, TRANSFERS, ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS AND CANCELLATION <br />OF EXISTING APPROPRIATIONS; AND, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1249, AS AMENDED, AND ALL <br />ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND, ADOPTING THE BUDGETS FOR <br />GENERAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS NO. 1-643 NO. 1-65, NO. 2-65, and NO. 3-65, FOR THE <br />FISCAL YEAR JULY 13 1967 -JUNE 303 1968, seconded by Councilman Bury and carried on <br />roll call vote, Councilman Keckley being noted absent. <br />DAMAGE CLAIM of Henry E. Sowma, 2639 Eaton Avenue, for personal injuries alleged to <br />have been caused by a fall from a defective construction overhang of a building <br />which was approved by the City, denied and referred to insurance carrier on motion <br />of Councilman Petersen, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. (MINUTE ORDER <br />COMMUNICATIONS: #67-145) <br />Communication addressed to Mayor Herkner from A. L. Imgrund, <br />Manager of Pacific Gas & Electric Company, regarding a request <br />for an amendment to the Business License Tax Ordinance which <br />would exclude them. <br />At the suggestion of the City Manager, Mayor Herkner asked this communication be <br />referred to the Council's business license committee. (Memo 6/28/67) <br />Communication signed by Paul F. Kelly, Attorney, advising that <br />Redwood City CATV had instructed him to inform the Council that <br />their corporation was unable to enter into the Franchise Agreement <br />and outlining reasons therefor. <br />Councilman Granger moved that communication be acknowledged, stating their decision to <br />terminate their franchise was accepted, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />(MINUTE ORDER #67-146) <br />A 26 •01 <br />
