<br />by Council. There being no communications or oral protest, Councilman Rosselli
<br />moved to close the public hearing, seconded by Councilman Bury and carried,
<br />Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5460 BEING RESOLUTION OF PUBLIC
<br />CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY, LAUREL WAY AND VICINITY IMPROVEMENTS, seconded by Coun-
<br />cilmen Keckley and carried unanimously on roll call vote, Councilman Henderson
<br />being noted absent.
<br />Councilman Petersen moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5461 BENG RESOLUTION APPROVING
<br />PLANS, PROFILES, DETAILED DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AND DETERMINING LIQUIDATED
<br />DAMAGES, LAUREL WAY AND VICINITY IMPROVEMENTS, seconded by Councilman Keckley and
<br />carried unanimously on roll call vote, Councilman Henderson being noted absent.
<br />Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION N0, 5462 BEING RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
<br />TO CONSTRUCT CERTAIN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS, LAUREL WAY AND VICINITY IMPROVEMENTS
<br />(sets public hearing for September 25th) seconded by Councilman Rosselli and
<br />carried unanimously on roll call vote, Councilman Henderson being noted absent.
<br />Councilman Granger moved to adopt RESOLUTION N0, 5463 BEING RESOLUTION FIXING
<br />MINIMUM WAGE SCALE, LAUREL WAY AND VICINITY IMPROVEMENTS, seconded by Councilman
<br />Bury and carried unanimously on roll call vote, Councilman Henderson being noted
<br />absent.
<br />Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5464 ORDERING CALL FOR BIDS,
<br />LAUREL WAY AND VICINITY IMPROVEMENTS, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried
<br />unanimously on roll call vote, Councilman Henderson being noted absent.
<br />Robert J. Costello, Attorney, announced that he had been
<br />asked by Mr. C. Martindale, who had to leave the meeting,
<br />to present his request for permission to use the Community
<br />Park for a Model Airplane Meet on Sunday, September 17, 1967.
<br />Staff report stated Council had authorized this event in the
<br />past, after requesting liability insurance, etc., to be fur-
<br />nished by sponsor, and that approval was recommended by Staff.
<br />Councilman Petersen moved to grant permission to use Community Park on date re-
<br />quested for this Model Airplane Meet, as recommended by Staff, seconded by Coun-
<br />cilman Rosselli and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #67-175)
<br />Councilman Bury moved to introduce Ordinance repealing Article III of Chapter 32
<br />of the Code of the City of Redwood City, relating to Cigarette Taxes, to be effec-
<br />tive September 30, 1967, seconded by Councilman Rosselli. Staff report stated in
<br />order for Redwood City to participate in the State imposed and collected tax on
<br />cigarettes, 30 of which will be returned to cities and counties not having a local
<br />tax as of October 1, 1967, it was necessary to repeal the City's recently imposed
<br />Cigarette Tax effective September 30, 1967. Motion carried,
<br />Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5465 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
<br />EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT WITH DANIEL, MANN, JOHNSON & MENDENHALL FOR ARCHITECTURAL
<br />SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF A MUNICIPAL SERVICE CENTER,
<br />seconded by Councilman Keckley.
<br />City Manager's report previously submitted to Council reported on having toured
<br />the new Municipal Service Center of City of Garden Grove which had been designed
<br />by the Architectural Division of DMJM, and whom he recommended undertake the
<br />preparation of the design program for City's Municipal Service Center. Report fur-
<br />ther detailed provisions in the proposed agreement for these services on a phasing
