413 <br />Councilman Rosselli reviewed the emergency situation and aid being given by <br />developers of this property for placing of this home. Motion to close the public <br />hearing carried. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to grant the permit to move the dwelling as requested, <br />subject to conditions recommended by Staff, seconded by Councilman Keckley and <br />carried. (MINUTE ORDER #67-2) <br />Presentation of following two applications for CATV Licenses made to Council: <br />(a) Peninsula Cable Television Corporation. <br />Robert Webber, San Bruno, Attorney representing Peninsula Cable Television <br />Corporation, reviewed points of application presented in their brochure; letters <br />submitted concerning existing facilities they had operation in other cities; fee <br />of $4.75 per month proposed as rate, no hook up charge to subscribers for either <br />overhead or underground facilities; representation made for wiring entire City <br />within six months period, and offer for free trial period of 7 days. <br />He stated original ordinance calls for coverage as to Grade A contour and their <br />original application had been made in conformity with this requirement but it <br />was their intention to cover both A and B Contour and incorporate transmission of <br />20 channels at inception for purpose of expansion if City so desired, plus the <br />emergency alert system. He further stated commitment made was definite as to <br />rates, besides point of reducing rates as additional subscribers are added. He <br />described personnel as being local residents and local ownership interests. He <br />further briefly reviewed engineering concepts proposed for the system. <br />(For full text of brochure submitted, see City Clerk's file - CATV) <br />(b) Redwood City CATV, Inc. <br />Paul F. Kelly, Attorney representing Redwood City CATV, Inc., advised of the per- <br />sonnel attached to their company and their long time residence in the County and <br />connection to owner operation of KRON-TV channel. He advised of the antenna now <br />in existence above San Carlos and invited those interested to inspect same and <br />also cable already laid behind adjacent cities which had been granted franchise <br />from San Mateo County. <br />He also advised original application had been filed in line with requirements of <br />ordinance enacted by the City prior to FCC assuming jurisdiction and how Staff <br />of their Company were familiar with control and why at very outset they had offered <br />channels as outlined in their brochure. <br />He also reviewed rates to be charged, installation charge of $9.50 to be reapplied <br />to the 7th and 8th month rental charges, a free month's trial, maximum charge to <br />be $4.75 which will also be lowered when additional subscribers added. <br />(For full text of brochure, see City Clerk's file - CATV) <br />Harold P.
