461 <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Notification from San Mateo County Mosquito Abatement <br />District that term of Henry Beeger will expire this month <br />and requesting another appointment be made. <br />Councilman Granger moved that Henry Beeger be reappointed to this district, <br />seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #67-28) <br />Communication from W. H. Thorpe expressing his appreciation <br />for Council's negotiations with State Retirement system <br />which had resulted in increased retirement pay for retired <br />City employees. <br />Request of Town of Los Altos Hills for City's support of their <br />resolution urging the designation of "Scenic Highway" being <br />placed on the Junipero Serra Freeway within their Town limits. <br />Invitation from Opportunities Industrialization Center West to <br />meet State Senator Mervyn Dymally of Los Angeles and tour their <br />facilities on Friday, February 17, 1967, at 5:00 P.M. <br />Announcement of Association of Bay Area Governments General <br />Assembly Meeting to be held February 24, 1967, Hotel Claremont, <br />Berkley, 8:45 a.m. <br />Councilman Petersen asked that a written report be submitted to Council next <br />week concerning status of Poverty Program since Council's responding action, as <br />he had been asked for results by interested citizens. (Memo 2/14/67) <br />Councilman Petersen announced that he would be unable to attend meeting proposed <br />by City Manager for progress report on Redwood Shores on March 6th, and asked if <br />another date could be considered. City Manager advised this had been a suggested <br />schedule only and could be changed. After further discussion presentation <br />rescheduled for Council meeting of March 13th. (Memo 2/14/67) <br />Councilman Bury suggested that Council adjourn by commemorating the memory of Don <br />Jordan, prominent business man in our community. Suggestion also made that motion <br />also include member of armed services recently killed on active duty. Councilman <br />Bury moved to adjourn by adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 5283 COMMEMORATING THE MEMORY <br />OF PHILIP J. SMITH AND RESOLUTION NO. 5284 <br />THE MEMORY OF DONALD W. <br />JORDAN, seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried on roll call vote. Meeting <br />adjourned at 12:40 a.m. <br />HELEN C. MOORE, City Clerk <br />Minutes of Regular Weekly Study Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />February 20, 1967 7:30 P. M. <br />Meeting called to order at 7:30 P. M. by Mayor Herkner. <br />Mayor Herkner stated there had been some discussion amongst Council members concerning <br />the elimination of the 7:30 P. M. study meeting and beginning the regular legis- <br />lative meeting at this time. Inasmuch as full Council not present, further dis- <br />cussion to be held on this item later. <br />Councilman Henderson questioned policy of accepting projects which were not completely <br />finished. City Manager stated Multi -Purpose Building, being requested for accep- <br />tance, had been fully completed within the required time schedule and in the opinion <br />
