469
Maple -Redwood Trunk Sewer, Project SS -2, GID 3-65, was accepted as recommended
by Staff, subject to usual one year guarantee, on motion of Councilman Rosselli,
seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #67-32)
Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5290 AUTHORIZING ISSUANCE OR
REVOCABLE PERMIT TO SAN FRANCISCO WATER DEPARTMENT, seconded by Councilman
Rosselli.
Staff report stated because all utility lines in Motor City Subdivision were
required to be placed underground, the owners had granted easements to the San
Francisco Water Department to place their existing communication line under-
ground behind the property line along Brewster Avenue, but this revocable permit
was necessary to cross Main Street. Motion carried on roll call vote.
Councilman Granger moved to adopt ORDINANCE N0. 1295 APPROPRIATING SUM OF $106,000
FROM UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF SPECIAL GAS TAX STREET IMPROVEMENT FUND TO PRO-
VIDE FOR COSTS OF ENGINEERING, SOILS TESTING, LAND ACQUISITION AND CONSTRUCTION
OF STAMBAUGH STREET PEDESTRIAN OVERPASS, WOODSIDE EXPRESSWAY, seconded by Coun-
cilman Henderson and carried on roll call vote, Councilman Petersen voting no.
Councilman Henderson moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1296 AMENDING SECTIONS 11.72 AND
1x:86, OF, AND ADDING SECTION 11.89 TO, THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY
RELATING TO CATV FRANCHISES, seconded by Councilman Keckley. Councilman Bury
questioned how easements for CATV cable lines were acquired if needed from
other sources, such as utility companies, etc., and was advised by City Attorney
franchise only applied to publicly owned property and if company granted CATV
franchise subsequently required additional easements or didn't want to use
Citys', it would be their obligation to obtain such easements. Motion carried
unanimously on roll call vote.
Councilman Granger moved to introduce Ordinance amending Section 29.23 of Chapter
29 of the Code of the City of Redwood City, relating to curbs, gutters and
sidewalks, seconded by Councilman Keckley.
City Manager advised ordinance proposed would provide for the City to replace
or repair curb, gutter and/or sidewalks, if City caused the removal of a tree
in a parkway, thereby necessitating repairs. Motion carried.
Councilman Granger asked for the rules and regulations governing the removal
of trees and repair of curbs, gutters, sidewalks, etc. (Memo 2/21/67)
Councilman Petersen moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5291 TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF
$3,400 FROM APPROPRIATION FOR PAYMENT OF SALARIES, DEPARTMENT OF CITY MANAGER,
TO APPROPRIATION FOR PAYMENT OF SALARIES, RECREATION DEPARTMENT, SECONDED BY
Councilman Henderson.
Staff report stated no provision was made for janitorial or custodial services
at the Multi -Purpose Building and sum being transferred as available from City
Manager's Salary Account because of positions in his department being unfilled,
thereby releasing funds to provide for a temporary janitor for the new building
to June 30, 1967. Motion carried on roll call.
Councilman Petersen moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5292 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
SUPPLEMENTARY AGREEMENT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS FOR FARM HILL
ESTATES NO. 2 SUBDIVISION, seconded by Councilman Rosselli.
