He advised after September 1st he felt it would be possible to move back to Schaberg Library basement for storing books only for a period from two weeks to two months, depending how construction proceeds. Councilman Rosselli questioned reason for deleting fireplace as felt it to be a real asset. City Librarian advised it had been placed as an alternate item depend- ing on costs in the bids received. City Librarian, after questioning, advised furniture and equipment estimated between $5,000 and $6,000 and ordering of same not possible until bids received. City Manager advised he had discussed funding of furnishings and equipment for branch library with City Librarian which would be considered in the coming budget. Motion carried on roll call vote. William H. Royer, as former Councilman, commended Council's actions and expressed his gratification for all previous commitments proceeding to conclusion, not only concerning Schaberg Branch Library addition, but the Whipple Avenue widening, Multi -Purpose Building at Community Park, Hoover School swimming pool, etc. Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION N0, 52P7 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR TWO LATEST MODEL AUTOMOBILES AND ONE LATEST MODEL 3/4 TON TRUCK; AND, AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR, seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried on roll call vote. Councilman Henderson moved to introduce Ordinance amending Title of Article VIII (Commencing at Section 2.100) of Chapter 2, of the Code of the City of Redwood City, relating to Boards and Commissions. Staff report stated amendment necessary to correct code where improperly numbered. Motion carried. Councilman Granger moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1297 AMENDING SECTIONS 21, 26, 29 AND 46 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1286, THE SALARY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; AND, PROVIDING FOR THE OPERATIVE DATES OF SAID AMENDMENTS, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried on roll call vote. Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1298 APPROPRIATING $68,464 FROM UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF BUDGETED RESERVE OF GENERAL FUND, $3,668 FROM UNAPPRO- PRIATED BALANCE OF SEWER RENTAL FUND, $9,027 FROM UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF WATER FUND $89 FROM UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF PARKING DISTRICT NO. 1 METER REVENUE FUND, AND 133 FROM UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT METER REVENUE FUND TO PROVIDE FOR PAYMENT OF SALARIES FOR THE DEPARTMENTS AND IN THE AMOUNTS INDICATED, seconded by Councilman Bury and carried on roll call vote. Councilman Petersen moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1299 AMENDING SECTION 29.23 OF CHAPTER 29 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO CURBS, GUTTERS AND SIDEWALKS, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried on roll call vote. Councilman Bury moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1300 AMENDING SECTION 2.20 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE CONDUCT OF MEETINGS OF THE REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL SECONDED by Councilman Henderson and carriedon roll call vote. Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5298 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THREE AGREEMENTS FOR THE DEDICATION OF CERTAIN RIGHTS OF WAY AND THE IMPROVEMENTS OF CERTAIN RIGHTS OF WAY AND CITY FACILITIES IN THE VICINITY OF MAIN STREET AND VETERANS BOULEVARD, seconded by Councilman Keckley. Staff report stated agreements proposed would insure installation of improvements and validate lot splits which had been made subject to conditions of a Use Permit, and permit reconstruction of the Standard Oil Company Station at Veterans Boulevard and Main Street. City Manager -further clarified the improvements to be made from illustrated map depicting parcels involved. Motion carried on roll call vote. Councilman Petersen moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5299 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR TRACTOR LOADER WITH SCARIFIER SCRAPER; AND AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried on roll call vote.
