480 <br />District for use of the multi-purpose building at Roosevelt School, adjacent to <br />Schaberg Library, for two months during summer vacation, during which time they <br />would be able to provide library service. He advised after September 1st he felt <br />it would be possible to move back to Schaberg Library basement for storing books <br />only for a period from two weeks to two months, depending how construction proceeds. <br />Councilman Rosselli questioned reason for deleting fireplace as felt it to be a <br />real asset. City Librarian advised it had been placed as an alternate item depend- <br />ing on costs in the bids received. City Librarian, after questioning, advised <br />furniture and equipment estimated between $5,000 and $6,000 and ordering of same not <br />possible until bids received. City Manager advised he had discussed funding of <br />furnishings and equipment for branch library with City Librarian which would be <br />considered in the coming budget. <br />Motion carried on roll call vote. <br />William H. Royer, as former Councilman, commended Council's <br />actions and expressed his gratification for all previous <br />commitments proceeding to conclusion, not only concerning <br />Schaberg Branch Library addition, but the Whipple Avenue <br />widening, Multi -Purpose Building at Community Park, Hoover <br />School swimming pool, etc. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION N0, 52P7 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR <br />TWO LATEST MODEL AUTOMOBILES AND ONE LATEST MODEL 3/4 TON TRUCK; AND, AUTHORIZING <br />CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR, seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried <br />on roll call vote. <br />Councilman Henderson moved to introduce Ordinance amending Title of Article VIII <br />(Commencing at Section 2.100) of Chapter 2, of the Code of the City of Redwood <br />City, relating to Boards and Commissions. Staff report stated amendment necessary <br />to correct code where improperly numbered. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Granger moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1297 AMENDING SECTIONS 21, 26, 29 AND <br />46 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1286, THE SALARY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; AND, <br />PROVIDING FOR THE OPERATIVE DATES OF SAID AMENDMENTS, seconded by Councilman <br />Rosselli and carried on roll call vote. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1298 APPROPRIATING $68,464 FROM <br />UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF BUDGETED RESERVE OF GENERAL FUND, $3,668 FROM UNAPPRO- <br />PRIATED BALANCE OF SEWER RENTAL FUND, $9,027 FROM UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF WATER <br />FUND $89 FROM UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF PARKING DISTRICT NO. 1 METER REVENUE FUND, <br />AND 133 FROM UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT METER REVENUE FUND <br />TO PROVIDE FOR PAYMENT OF SALARIES FOR THE DEPARTMENTS AND IN THE AMOUNTS INDICATED, <br />seconded by Councilman Bury and carried on roll call vote. <br />Councilman Petersen moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1299 AMENDING SECTION 29.23 OF <br />CHAPTER 29 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO CURBS, GUTTERS AND <br />SIDEWALKS, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried on roll call vote. <br />Councilman Bury moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1300 AMENDING SECTION 2.20 OF THE CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE CONDUCT OF MEETINGS OF THE REDWOOD <br />CITY COUNCIL SECONDED by Councilman Henderson and carriedon roll call vote. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5298 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING <br />EXECUTION OF THREE AGREEMENTS FOR THE DEDICATION OF CERTAIN RIGHTS OF WAY AND THE <br />IMPROVEMENTS OF CERTAIN RIGHTS OF WAY AND CITY FACILITIES IN THE VICINITY OF MAIN <br />STREET AND VETERANS BOULEVARD, seconded by Councilman Keckley. <br />Staff report stated agreements proposed would insure installation of improvements <br />and validate lot splits which had been made subject to conditions of a Use Permit, <br />and permit reconstruction of the Standard Oil Company Station at Veterans Boulevard <br />and Main Street. City Manager -further clarified the improvements to be made from <br />illustrated map depicting parcels involved. Motion carried on roll call vote. <br />Councilman Petersen moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5299 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR <br />TRACTOR LOADER WITH SCARIFIER SCRAPER; AND AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS <br />THEREFOR, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried on roll call vote. <br />
