495
Subdivision Ordinance but stated he also wished it understood that these amendments
would not preclude grading but it was felt controls would be adequate. He also
advised it was felt to be sufficient control because both San Mateo County and
Santa Clara County were considering slope density regulation ordinances which
would control grading by controlling number of parcels which could be developed
on various slopes. He felt proposed amendment would be at least an interim measure
for control as only two large parcels subject to massive grading remain unde-
veloped; one being Motorcycle Hill and the other being the proposed college site,
which would not be subject to grading controls should college site be selected
for this area.
Marvin Teply, 731 Canyon Road, questioned controls pro-
posed for grading of hillside areas by private indi-
viduals resulting in drainage problems for adjacent
properties, particularly with reference to Canyon Road
area. He also questioned creek controls.
Councilman Henderson questioned County slope density proposal and if it would
be recommended for the City. Planning Director stated it was hoped proposal would
be adaptable to the City when completed. Councilman Petersen stated his awareness
of problems referred to in the Canyon Road area but felt lack of curbs, gutters,
etc., which improvements had been rejected by property owners, needed to fully
correct situation.
