Councilman Rosselli expressed concern over parking eliminations proposed
along the route and felt further study should be made for reduction of width of
sidewalks and median barrier, to insure parking for businesses for present and
some years in the future, even to extent of acquiring more right of way, if found
necessary. Councilman Petersen favored more study for reducing sidewalk widths
because of difference it could make in the future to allow additional driving lanes.
Director of Public Works again reviewed width of roadway and provision which could
be made for additional lane if parking restricted even in peak hours of traffic
flow. City Manager advised State had indicated they would oppose reduction of
sidewalk width unless assurance could be given that utilities would be underground
T
