I <br />,e�.•,���`�oK 31' <br />6 <br />Dr. Joseph Grimes, (as corrected by minutes of 3/20) <br />R#ehard-Bgy.le,,, 250 Alameda, stated that phase #1 <br />is within the Belmont School District, and asked when <br />first residential area is proposed for Redwood City <br />'School District. <br />Fred Gates, 3871 Vineyard Dr., asked whether a special <br />maintenance district would be set up for maintenance of <br />the ship channel and if it is to become part of the City's <br />park system. <br />Mr. Reiter stated in so far as maintenance pertained to drainage for Redwood Shores <br />it would clearly be operation of the District, but that the channel itself would <br />either go into park or public works as it would certainly be a recreational feature <br />owned by the City. He described other features which would be unique to the dis- <br />trict only and chargeable to it such as pumping water out of the ship channel <br />into the Bay, but that standard types of services as used by citizens in Redwood <br />City would be equally shared by those in Redwood Shores. <br />Dr. John Mills, 2027 Belle Monti Ave., Belmont, expressed <br />concern with involvement of their school district with <br />project and urged close cooperation with their Board. <br />Mr. Johnson assured Dr. Mills close communication had been established with the <br />School Board in order to keep Board aware of development plans. <br />Mr. Drake, 630 Sierra Pt. Rd., Brisbane, questioned owner- <br />ship of property in the District and surrounding areas. <br />Mrs. Pat Barrentine, 40 Carmel Lane, suggested Council con- <br />sider complementing Marine World with more commercial recrea- <br />tion, convention center, etc, instead of proposed residential <br />area. She also questioned next proposed bond sale in view <br />of law suit now pending on Redwood Shores project. <br />Wm. Oeser, 630 Roosevelt Ave., expressed his disapproval of <br />questions being allowed from those present who were neither <br />voters nor taxpayers of Redwood City. <br />Hubert Soher, 3762 Farm Hill Blvd., questioned police and <br />fire protection services for the district. <br />Assistant City Manager stated a study was now being made by professional consul- <br />tants on new civic facilities and expansion of police and fire facilities for Red- <br />wood Shores would be a part of this study. Police Chief advised the project is <br />being policed the same as any other section of Redwood City. Councilman Bury asked <br />if any police protection was now being extended to this area and was assured area <br />is included. <br />ACCOUNTS PAYABLE, Nos. 60230 to 60408, totaling $358,160.93, were approved on motion <br />of Councilman Rosselli, seconded by Councilman Bury and carried. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried. <br />Meeting adjourned at 10:45 p.m. <br />HELEN C.
