L <br />Mayor Herkner announced that nominations for the Park & Recreation Commission <br />were to be closed as of this date and no nominations had been received. <br />Councilman Bury nominated Mrs. Doris Thompson for reappointment. <br />Councilman Bury announced he would be out of the City for one week which would also <br />necessitate his being absent from the Council Meeting of March 25th. <br />Councilman Bury moved that the Staff be authorized to prepare a Resolution for <br />presentation to Council next week commending the Board of Directors of the <br />Centennial, as the last activity of this year long program would be held this <br />week, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried. Granger, Mary <br />W. Henderson, Paul C. Keckley, Herbert G. Petersen, John S. Rosselli, Mayor <br />Sidney D. Herkner, and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. Councilman Robert H. Bury <br />was noted absent. Also present were City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, Acting City <br />Attorney David E. Schricker, Assistant City Manager Henry V. Burget, Deputy <br />Police Chief Theodore Moudakas, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, Planning Director Ken <br />Schroeter, Director of Public Works J. Louis Scherer, Auditor -Accountant <br />Jack Ference, City Librarian Karl A. Vollmayer, Chief Building Official Charles <br />Gyselbrecht, and Deputy City Clerk Marian McCrindle. <br />Councilman Granger moved to approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 18, <br />1968, as mailed, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried. <br />Loyalty Oaths administered by City Clerk and Certificates of Appointment presented <br />by Mayor Herkner to Richard K. McIntosh and Walter G. Small, on their appoint- <br />ment to the Personnel Board. <br />Certificate of Distinguished Service presented by Mayor Herkner on behalf of Council <br />to Richard K. McIntosh for services rendered by his membership on the Veterans <br />Memorial Commission. <br />Review of Centennial Year made by David Schutz, Chairman of Centennial Year Committee, <br />with expressions of appreciation for cooperation given by Council, City Staff, <br />and the more than 100 volunteers who had made the year long celebration the <br />successful event that it was. <br />Mr. Schutz also presented Council with a list as prepared by the Committee of <br />recommendations for future action either by a new commission or as direct re- <br />commendations to the City Council.
