Square Apartments, by Doyle Campbell and Tom Giannini, 464 Clinton Street, <br />for property damages alleged to have been caused by back-up of City sewer, <br />denied and referred to insurance carrier on motion of Councilman Petersen, <br />seconded by Councilman Keckley andcarried (MINUTE ORDER #68-83-A,B,C) <br />ACCOUNTS PAYABLE, Nos. 65650 to 65905 inclusive, totaling $239,300.10, approved <br />for payment on motion of Councilman Henderson, seconded by Councilman Keckley. <br />In reply to question concerning charge by the Cote A'Azur restaurant, City Man- <br />ager advised larger part of this claim was the result of City's acting as Host <br />when Bank of America, City Council, and officials, during tour of Redwood Shores <br />for briefing before the Series C. bonds offered, and that balance of charges <br />were for luncheons furnished to members of Personnel Interview Boards during the <br />time they donated their services to City, as this was all they received in <br />compensation. Motion carried. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />County Board of Supervisors' invitation to Council <br />for a joint luncheon on Tuesday, April 16th, if <br />convenient, or notification be given for arrange- <br />ments of a more suitable date (copy submitted to <br />Council) <br />James M. Bodie, M.D., Superintendent of Health <br />Division, County Department of Public Health and <br />Welfare Division, relating to San Mateo County <br />Milk Ordinance and request for City to adopt a <br />similar regulation, copy submitted to Council) <br />City Manager advised he had responded to this communication and had asked Acting <br />City Attorney to review the County Milk Ordinance and make a recommendation as <br />to whether City should adopt similar legislation. He advised the only places <br />where raw milk might be available in the City at present would be in health <br />food stores, but that a report would be made to Council when matter more <br />thoroughly reviewed. (Memo 3/26/68) <br />Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, County of <br />Santa Clara, stating their position as to future <br />concept of ABAG, and soliciting responses of other <br />cities belonging to the League as to their position <br />(copy submitted to Council) <br />Letter of appreciation from Police Chief, William <br />Faulstich, for Council's resolution congratulating <br />him on his recent birthday (copy submitted to Council) <br />Edwin A. Wells expressing his gratitude to the City's <br />Fire and Police Department Personnel for their sustained <br />efforts in recent harbor tragedy (copy submitted to <br />Council) <br />West Bay Rapid Transit Authority offering to present a <br />filmstrip with a 12 minute running time which portrays <br />transportation habits and pattern of San Mateo County <br />and nature of some of the suggestions being made (copy <br />submitted to Council) <br />_ Mayor Herkner suggested this presentation be held until after April 15th, if no <br />objections presented. <br />Mayor Herkner commented on meeting he had requested City Manager hold with Depart- <br />ment Heads and others concerned with safety at the Marina, with idea of discuss- <br />ing safety factors which might be recommended to prevent a further tragedy. <br />MAR 25'68 <br />
