City Manager stated it had been suggested that Staff might work up some small <br />but conspicuous signs with appropriate cautioning to those using their small <br />boats in the Bay, as it was thought not possible to enact further regulatory <br />measures. <br />Councilman Petersen commented on the strike by the Brinks and Loomis Armored <br />Truck operators and questioned its effect to the City. City Clerk advised she <br />had reinstituted the police escort to the bank for making the City's deposits <br />and was in contact with Loomis Armored Car Service also relative to the parking <br />meter coin pick-up, and if strike not settled by Friday, collection from meters <br />would be made by City personnel.from her office. <br />Councilman Henderson urged all to take time tomorrow to vote on the bonds <br />needed to insure completion of the Junior College in Redwood City. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried. <br />Meeting adjourned at 10:20 P.M. <br />HELEN C. MOORE, City Clerk <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />April 1, 1968 7:30 P.M. <br />Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilman Granger. <br />Invocation led by Reverend John B. Haverland, St. Peter's Episcopal Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Robert H. Bury, Floyd <br />D. Granger, Mary W. Henderson, Paul C. Keckley, Herbert G. Petersen, John S. <br />Rosselli, Mayor Sidney D. Herkner, and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. Also present <br />were City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, Acting City Attorney David E. Schricker, <br />Assistant City Manager Henry V. Burget, Deputy Police Chief Theodore Moudakas, <br />Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, Planning Director Ken Schroeter, Director of Public <br />Works J. Louis Scherer, Chief Building Official Charles Gyselbrecht, and Deputy <br />City Clerk Marian McCrindle. <br />Councilman Granger moved to approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 25, <br />1968, as mailed, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried. <br />Loyalty Oath administered by City Clerk and Certificate of Appointment presented by <br />Mayor Herkner to Doris C. Thompson, reappointed to another term on the Park and <br />Recreation Commission. <br />Monthly Progress Report, Redwood Shores. City Manager introduced Charles C. Wynn <br />and stated that Mr. Hedley, Architect for Unit #1 of Leslie Development, and <br />the Planning Director Wm. Rogers would brief the Council on the progress of <br />the District. <br />Mr. Wynn reported that they are starting on the first unit, having arranged <br />with two eminent builders for the first single family residential units, <br />American Housing Guild and Wm. Lyon Development, owned by American Standards. <br />He stated that they are the third largest builders in the United States. Leslie <br />Properties are also talking to townhouse builders in developing townhouse and <br />patio house ideas. Construction will start next month with the goal of having <br />APR 1 W <br />
