to Bradford Street, this stage being anticipated for completion by March 18, 1968. <br />City Manager's report previously submitted to Council outlined modifications of <br />the remaining two stages of the traffic study which had been discussed with the <br />Consultants, Peat, Marwick, Livingston & Company, and with their aid, has re- <br />sulted in last two stages as now modified to permit additional research data being <br />obtained. Motion carried on roll call vote, Councilman Rosselli voting no. <br />Acceptance of Woodside Road -Hudson Street traffic signal system approved, as recommend- <br />ed by Staff, subject to a one-year guarantee of workmanship and materials, on <br />motion of Councilman Keckley, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />(MINUTE ORDER #68-29) <br />Councilman Petersen announced he had been made aware of the concern of the merchants <br />in the small shopping center at Woodside and Central Avenue because of the pro- <br />hibition of a left turn from Woodside into Central Avenue at this point causing <br />a hardship to their business operations. Councilman Petersen moved that City <br />Manager be requested to meet with the merchants concerned in this shopping center <br />and discuss possibility of their participating in costs for a possible change <br />being made to allow the left turn entrance into Central Avenue, and report back <br />to the Council in three weeks. (Feb. 19th) seconded by Councilman Rosselli. <br />Police Chief advised he was aware of the protests being made by persons involved <br />at this intersection, and had assured them this matter will be discussed by the <br />Traffic Bureau for a possible recommendation of improvements, and would certainly <br />invite them to attend the meeting when this will be discussed. He asked that <br />Council allow at least a month for Staff's investigation of this problem before <br />making a report. <br />Councilman Henderson also asked if there was any possible solutinn for better <br />traffic flow along Woodside Expressway as there seemed to be considerable backup <br />of traffic at peak hours at signalized points. Police Chief reported this matter <br />had been studied for time actuation of signals, but that a further check would be <br />made. <br />Councilman Petersen restated his motion to direct Staff to meet with the various <br />persons concerned in the shopping center at Woodside and Central and investigate <br />their problems for a possible solution and report back as soon as possible, <br />seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #68-30 <br />Acceptance of installation of Flood Lights in Mezes Plaza approved, as recommended by <br />Staff, subject to a one-year guarantee of workmanship and materials, on motion of <br />Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried.
