He advised, should Council grant <br />the sewer connection, the capacity of the sewer line in Edgewood Road was more <br />than adequate and designed ultimately to serve all properties along its route. <br />Further questions were asked concerning proposed development of this property <br />and possibility of Mr. Challstrom bringing in an annexation area which would be <br />contiguous to the City. <br />Mr. Challstrom asked for Council's inspection of the <br />property or a chance to submit proposed plans for <br />development of parcel. <br />Council discussed facts concerning approving a subdivision which is not conti- <br />guous and therefore cannot be annexed. Councilman Bury moved to deny the <br />application for the sewer connection, seconded by Councilman Henderson and <br />carried on roll call vote. (MINUTE ORDER #68-38) <br />Councilman Rosseli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5600 GRANTING REVOCABLE PERMISSION <br />TO CALIFORNIA CLIPPERS, LTD., TO UTILIZE MODEL AIRPLANE FIELD, seconded by <br />Councilman Petersen. <br />City Manager was previously authorized by Council to negotiate an agreement for <br />this groups' use of this field. In reply to questioning as to use of other <br />facilities requested by the Club, City Manager advised they were resigned to <br />fact of using the field for training purpose and have use of no other facili- <br />ties, as other arrangements suggested not thought desirable. Motion carried <br />on roll call vote. <br />Councilman Keekley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5601 BEING RESOLUTION OF INTENTION <br />TO ABANDON A PORTION OF A PUBLIC STREET IN ACCORDANCE WITH PART 3 OF DIVISION <br />91 STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA; SETTING TIME AND PLACE <br />FOR HEARING ALL PERSONS INTERESTED IN OR OBJECTING TO THE PROPOSED VACATION; <br />AND, ORDERING POSTING OF NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED VACATION, seconded by Council- <br />man Rosselli. <br />Staff report advised abandonment requested by Wm. Barnett, on behalf of Roman <br />Catholic Archbishop of San Francisco, and Mt. Carmel, for abandonment of Elm <br />Street, between Heller Street and Southern Pacific right -o£ -way; that adjacent <br />property on both sides of the street is owned by the Catholic Church .and they <br />desire to build a new church facility; that PGE, PTT, and Department of Public <br />Works recommended approval. <br />Council questioned proposed developments for this site, concern for traffic <br />problems if access not controlled, adverse affect to other lots for development <br />proposed, etc. City Manager advised this action would set this matter for <br />public hearing on March 11, 1968, and he would have answers for Council at that <br />time after a review of all circumstances involved. Motion carried on roll call <br />vote.
