390 <br />that addii]onal monies would be accrued to Acting City Attorney through Port <br />duties and felt total amounts stated to be sufficient. <br />After further discussion, motion carried on roll call vote. Councilman Keckley <br />moved to introduce Ordinance adding Section 44 to Ordinance No. 1286, the <br />Salary Ordinance of the City of Redwood City to provide for salary of Acting <br />City Attorney, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />Mayor Herkner called a ten minute recess at 9:45 p.m. <br />Request of James Challstrom on behalf of Mrs. Ruby Seagrave, 1462 Edgewood Road, <br />for sewer connection to the existing home and adjacent property being sub- <br />divided in the County, presented for consideration. <br />Staff report stated (1) Parcel is not presently adjacent to Redwood City <br />Corporate Limits, being approximately 300' fxarm the present Corporate Limits, <br />being approximately 300' from the present Corporate Limits Line along Upland <br />Road; (2) Applicant, a builder, plans to subdivide the property into 3 parcels <br />of approximately 13,000 to 15,000 sq. ft. each; (3) Sanitary sewer trunk main <br />in Edgewood Road was constructed from City funds in 1962-63 and designed to <br />handle the subject area. <br />City Manager recommended that the request for the sewer connection be denied <br />inasmuch as the application did not meet the criteria of the Ordinance. It _ <br />was noted, however, if Council desired to grant the request, that certain <br />specific conditions were cited concerning fees, deposits relating to annexa- <br />tion, encroachment permits from County, etc. <br />Mr. Challstrom, 1355 Orange Avenue, San Carlos, repre- <br />senting the owner of the property, urged Council's con- <br />sideration of this request and stated their willingness <br />to abide by all conditions recommended by Staff. <br />City Manager in reply to questioning as to his recommendation cited specific <br />code section relating "exceptional and extraordinary conditions effecting <br />property" must be evident and that these circumstances are not found in this <br />request when it was being proposed to subdivide a large parcel in the County <br />into three parcels for development purposes. He advised, should Council grant <br />the sewer connection, the capacity of the sewer line in Edgewood Road was more <br />than adequate and designed ultimately to serve all properties along its route. <br />Further questions were asked concerning proposed development of this property <br />and possibility of Mr. Challstrom bringing in an annexation area which would be <br />contiguous to the City. <br />Mr. Challstrom, 1355 Orange Avenue, San Carlos.. — <br />representing the owner of the property, urged Council's <br />consideration of this request and stated their willing- <br />ness to abide by all conditions recommended by Staff. <br />City Manager in reply to questioning as to his recommendation cited specific <br />code section relating "exceptional and extraordinary conditions effecting <br />M 5 68 FEB 5 '68 <br />
