Mr. Rhodes appeared personally to urge his proposals be considered, if a promotion program to be commenced to publicize the new bus system. Councilman Bury suggested that Mr. Rhodes submit a copy of his communication to the Chamber of Commerce and Retail Merchants Association. In reply to questioning when further details of the bus system operation would be presen- ted to Council, Councilman Petersen, Chairman of Committee, advised Staff presently working on routing and operational details with the Company and hoped a recommendation would be available within two weeks. Councilman Rosselli asked that members of the Legislative Committee meet on Friday, March lst, at 8:00 a.m., as several items had been referred by Council for their review, and a series of industrial welfare bills had been received which he felt should be studied. Councilman Keckley's request for permission to leave the State on March 5-9, 1968, for a trip to Colorado, approved on motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Bury and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #68-58) Councilman Keckley called Council's attention to a recent newspaper article quoting Dr. O'Meara, of Redwood City Elementary School Board, as stating that the School Board had often asked the Redwood City Council for school site decisions in Redwood Shores but that response had been uncooperative. He asked that this statement not go unchallenged as he felt that Council had been most co- operative and had done all possible to work with the school boards. Mayor Herkner asked that City Manager contact Dr. O'Meara concerning statements alleged to have been made by him and report to Council.
