Section 4.0 — Environmental Setting and Discussion of Impacts <br />4.16 TRANSPORTATION <br />The following section is based on a Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA) completed for the proposed <br />project by Hexagon Transportation Consultants in May 2016. The TIA is included as Appendix F of <br />this IS. <br />4.16.1 Existing Setting <br />4.16.1.1 Roadway Network <br />Regional Access <br />United States Route 101 (US 101) is a north/south freeway that extends from north of San Francisco <br />to south of San Jose. In the project vicinity, US 101 has eight mixed -flow lanes. US 101 provides <br />access to project site via the interchanges at Ralston Avenue/Marine Parkway and at Holly <br />Street/Redwood Shores Parkway. <br />Local Access <br />Marine Parkway is a four- to six -lane east -west roadway that extends from Salt Court to Oracle <br />Parkway/Shoreway Road. East of Salt Court, Marine Parkway transitions into Shearwater Parkway. <br />West of Oracle Parkway/Shoreway Road, Marine Parkway transitions into Ralston Avenue. Marine <br />Parkway is a divided roadway with a raised median and provides access to the project site via its <br />intersections with Bridge Parkway and Shell Parkway, <br />Shearwater Parkway is a two- to four -lane east -west roadway that extends west frorn Redwood <br />Shores Parkway to Salt Court. Shearwater Parkway transitions into Marine Parkway west of Salt <br />Court, Shearwater Parkway is a divided roadway with a raised center median. Within the vicinity of <br />the project site, Shearwater Parkway is four lanes wide and provides access to the site via its <br />intersection with Redwood Shores Parkway. <br />Redwood Shores Parkway is a two- to four -lane east -west roadway that extends west from the <br />Embarcadero to Shoreway Road. Redwood Shores Parkway transitions into Holly Street west of <br />Shoreway Road. Redwood Shores Parkway is a divided roadway with a raised center median. <br />Within the vicinity of the project site, Redwood Shores Parkway is two lanes wide and provides <br />direct access to the site. <br />Egret Lane is a two-lane north -south roadway that connects Southport Drive and Columbus Circle. <br />Egret Lane has a cul-de-sac at the northern end. Egret Lane is located directly west of the project <br />site, and is also used for school pick-up and drop-off activities. <br />Shell Parkway is a two- to four -lane north -south roadway that extends south from Marine Parkway <br />to south of Redwood Shores Parkway. North of Marine Parkway, Shell Parkway transitions to <br />Bridge parkway and wraps around the business park.
