Section 4.0 — Environmental Setting and Discussion of Impacts
4.18.2.5 Cumulative Cultural Resource Impacts
As discussed in Section 4.5, Cultural Resources, construction of the proposed project is unlikely to
result in impacts to buried cultural resources or hutnan remains. Furthermore, the project includes
mitigation measures to reduce impacts to cultural resources to a less than significant level in the
unlikely event they are discovered during project construction. For these reasons, the project would
not contribute to cumulative cultural resources impact. (Less Than Significant Impact)
4.18.2.6 Cumulative Geology and Soils Impacts
As discussed in Section 4.6, Geology and Soils, development of the proposed project could result in
increased differential settlement on the project site. The project would include MM GEO-1, which
would reduce this impact to a less than significant level. Therefore, the project would not contribute
to cumulative geology and soils impact. (Less Than Significant Impact)
4.18.2.7 Cumulative Greenhouse Gas Emissions Impacts
As with air quality impacts, greenhouse gas emission impacts are, by nature, cumulative impacts. As
discussed in Section 4.7, Greenhouse Gas Emissions, the proposed project consists of infill
development that would not result in a significant greenhouse gas emissions impact. Therefore, the
proposed project would not result in a significant cumulative greenhouse gas emissions impact.
(Less Than Significant Impact)
4.18.2.8 Cumulative Hazards and Hazardous Materials Impacts
Hazardous material impacts are typically localized and, as a result, do not combine with other
hazardous material impacts to result in significant cumulative impacts, As discussed in Section 4.8,
Hazards and Hazardous Materials, the proposed project consists of infill development that would
not result in a significant hazards and hazardous materials impact. For these reasons, the proposed
project would not contribute to a cumulative hazards and hazardous materials impact. (Less Than
Significant Impact)
4.18.2.9 Cumulative Hydrology and Water Quality Impacts
As discussed in Section 4.9, Hydrology and YYater Quality, the proposed project consists of infill
development that would not result in a significant hydrology and water quality impact. Furthermore,
the project site is located in an area that is built -out, and there are no known projects in the area that
would result in a significant cumulative hydrology and water quality impact. For these reasons, the
proposed project would not contribute to a cumulative hydrology and water quality impact. (Less
Than Significant Impact)
4.18.2.10 Cumulative Land Use Impacts
As discussed in Section 4.10, Land Use, the proposed project consists of infill development that
would not result in a significant land use impact. Furthermore, the project site is located in an area
City of Redwood City 106 Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration
Sandpiper Elementary School Facilities Expansion November 2016
