RESOLUTION NO. 074929 <br />BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF THE OFFICE OF <br />SUSTAINABILITY OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT FOR <br />$270,000 WITH REDWOOD CITY 2020 TO IMPLEMENT THE SAFE ROUTES TO <br />SCHOOL PROGRAM TASKS IN THE ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM <br />REDWOOD CITY 2020 SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORTATION ENCOURAGEMENT <br />PROGRAM GRANT <br />RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of <br />California, that <br />WHEREAS, on September 26, 2013, Governor Brown signed legislation creating <br />the Active Transportation Program (ATP) in the Department of Transportation (Senate <br />Bill 99, Chapter 359 and Assembly Bill 101, Chapter 354), consolidating existing federal <br />and state transportation programs, including the Transportation Alternatives Program <br />(TAP), Bicycle Transportation Account (BTA), and State Safe Routes to School (SR2S), <br />into a single program with a focus to make California a national leader in active <br />transportation; and <br />WHEREAS, on January 21, 2016, the California Transportation Commission <br />adopted the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) portion of the ATP program, <br />which added 93 projects that will utilize $143 million in ATP funds to help fund over <br />$230 million in projects; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo desires to use ATP grant funding to <br />measure the rates of walking and bicycling for daily transportation, implement a variety <br />of activities to reward and increase rates of walking and bicycling of adults and <br />
