LSA <br />b. Agriculture and Forestry Resources. It is not expected that the proposed project would have <br />any effect on agricultural or forestry resources, as these resources are not present on or adjacent to <br />the project site. LSA will provide brief responses to the checklist questions for this topic. <br />C. Geology and Soils. As described in the IHSP Draft Technical Memorandum, soils in the vicinity <br />of the project site consist of alluvial deposits overlain by a soft to very stiff marine clay deposit ("Bay <br />Mud"). Bay Mud is considered to be a highly compressible material and subject to differential <br />settlements. The geology and soils section will summarize the potential for geologic impacts based <br />on information available regional and site-specific geotechnical information. As part of the Initial <br />Study, BASELINE will address issues related to earthquakes, landslides, and unstable soil conditions, <br />including erosion and shrink -swell soils. Standard conditions of approval will be identified as <br />appropriate. <br />d. Greenhouse Gas Emissions. LSA will evaluate the project's impacts on global climate change <br />in response to the Initial Study checklist questions. LSA will provide a quantitative assessment of <br />greenhouse gas emissions associated with all relevant sources related to the project for which <br />project data are available, including construction activities. LSA will also provide a qualitative <br />assessment of the project's consistency with relevant plans and regulations, including the City of <br />Redwood City's Community Climate Action Plan. <br />e. Mineral Resources. It is anticipated that the project will have no effect on mineral resources. <br />LSA will provide brief responses to the checklist questions for this topic. <br />f. Parks and Recreation. The increase in population on the site may increase the demand for <br />park and recreational services. LSA will work with City staff to determine if the proposed project <br />would result in potential impacts to these services. <br />g. Population and Housing. While the project would increase the population on site through the <br />construction of additional residential units, it is not expected to result in any significant impacts on <br />population or housing, as the increase in population resulting from the project would not be <br />substantial. Nor would the project result in the displacement of housing or people. The project does <br />not propose any changes to the existing nearby Docktown community. LSA will document the <br />change in population resulting from the project, and provide brief responses to the checklist <br />questions for this topic. <br />h. Public Services. Development of the proposed project could create increased demand for <br />public services including fire service, police service, schools, libraries, and recreation.
