PUBLIC COMMENT <br />None <br />-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />4a. Dr. John Hensill, 2 West Summit Drive, described the process whereby the <br />new Board of the Farmer's Market is the same as the Redwood City Kiwanis, <br />thereby ensuring continuous management throughout the upcoming years. <br />Mr. Eddie Rosenstiel from the Kiwanis Club promis�d continued operation of <br />the Farmer's Market and hoped for Council approval. <br />Mayor Greenalch thanked Kiwanis and Farmers Market for this "Friendly <br />Takeover" and expressed confidence in the Market's continued success. <br />4b. Assistant City Manager Bob Jean, in response to C uncil questions, presented <br />an update on conditions at 696 Upton and 2936 Jefferson Avenue and <br />encouraged citizens in the neighborhoods to submit affidavits attesting to <br />zoning or other violations. <br />4c. Mayor Greenalch described meeting today with City Smith, Councilman <br />Bury, County Manager Maltbie and Supervisor Nolan ''regarding concept for <br />proposed jail site and three issues of possible benefit if located in <br />Redwood City. <br />1. New parking structure. <br />2. Long term plans for meeting needs of County to house prisoners <br />in sentencing facility not located in Redwood City. <br />3. Two facilities East of Bayshore (work furlough and women's facility) <br />would no longer be located in Redwood City. <br />Council again expressed concern at lack of Redwood City involvement in <br />negotiations regarding proposed new jail site and requested staff take <br />actions to ensure Council participation. <br />MEMO 3/27/90 <br />-------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />BOARD, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />a. Councilman Stangel presented report regarding thelCommittee on Task Force <br />Master Plan for use of reclaimed water. The Committee members, Community <br />Development Director Pawloski, City Engineer Luck'' Parks, Recreation and <br />Community Services Director Griffiths, Jim Bewley Don Warren and Councilman <br />Stangel, had its first meeting on 3/21/90 and wil report back to the <br />Council in the near future. <br />----------------------------------------------------- +-------------------- - - - - -- <br />Reg.
