Task 2: Sewer Cockroach Control Program <br />The work consists of opening 143 specifically selected sanitary sewer manholes in the City <br />of Redwood City during the months of September, December, March, and June, in order to <br />inspect and apply insecticide to the vertical wall. Contractor shall service manholes in the <br />presence of SMCMVCD's Vector Control Specialist or his/her representative. <br />A. Materials and Eouioment: All tools, labor, materials and equipment necessary to <br />carry out this program are to be provided by the Contractor. No alteration or <br />substitution of materials is permissible without the express written authority of <br />City or SMCMVCD. <br />B. Insecticide: Contractor will use BorActin (active ingredient: Orthoboric acid <br />99%) as the insecticide. The insecticide shall be used in the form of a spray. <br />Contractor shall use materials and equipment as specified by the manufacturer's <br />labeling. <br />The City and/or SMCMVCD reserve the right to change the insecticide at any <br />time to comply with new regulations or other factors. Notice will be given to <br />Contractor in a reasonable amount of time specifying what needs to be changed. <br />C. Method of Pesticide Anolication: Contractor shall service manholes in the <br />presence of SMCMVCD's Vector Control Specialist or his/her representative. <br />Contractor shall notify SMCMVCD's Vector Control Specialist to schedule the <br />event at least two (2) weeks prior to application. <br />Contractor shall apply a band of insecticide to the vertical wall of the sewer <br />manhole shaft two (2) feet wide and six (6) inches down from the lip of the <br />manhole. <br />V. Task 3 & 4: Creek Rodent Control Program <br />The work consists of installing a total of approximately 681 protective bait stations, each <br />containing an eight (8) ounce paraffin bait block, along natural drainage creeks and other <br />areas in the amounts prescribed below.
