<br />4 <br /> <br />bi-weekly basis. The worker's consent shall be given on a form agreed to by the City and the Union. <br />Copies of all new forms (including changes to previously submitted forms) shall be furnished to the Union by <br />the City. On a quarterly basis the City shall supply the Union with the names and classifications of all <br />contract workers, and the names, classifications, departments and fiscal year to date cumulative hours <br />worked of all casual and temporary workers, assigned to classifications within the Local 521 bargaining unit. <br /> <br />3.7 New Workers <br /> <br />New workers hired and assigned to classifications covered by the SEIU Unit shall be advised by the City <br />that Local 521, Service Employees International Union, is the recognized bargaining representative in said <br />unit. The City agrees to distribute to all new workers in the SEIU Unit a reasonable amount of materials <br />provided by the Union at its expense. <br /> <br />The City will provide to the Union a list of workers attending the City’s new worker orientation. This list shall <br />include each worker’s worker identification number, name, job classification, department, work location (title <br />and address), work phone number (if available in the payroll system), work email address (if available in the <br />payroll system), hire date, and, subject to the individual worker’s consent, the worker’s home address, <br />personal mobile number, home phone number, and personal home email address. Following orientation <br />sessions where new workers represented by the bargaining unit are present, the Union shall be allowed <br />fifteen (15) minutes after the session to speak to workers represented by the Union. One steward or chapter <br />officer shall be granted release time for this purpose. <br /> <br />3.8 Printing of the Agreement <br /> <br />The Union agrees that the Union shall complete the printing of this Agreement. The Union and the City will <br />share equally in the printing costs. The cover of the agreement shall bear both the City and Union Logo. <br />The Union agrees to provide each bargaining unit member with a copy of this Agreement. The Union <br />agrees to provide the Personnel Officer with sufficient copies of this Agreement so that each new bargaining <br />unit worker hired through the life of this Agreement shall be provided with a copy of this Agreement. <br /> <br />3.9 Payroll Deduction <br /> <br />The City shall deduct Union membership dues and any other mutually agreed upon payroll deduction from <br />the pay of member workers. The dues deduction must be authorized in writing by the worker on an <br />authorization card acceptable to the City and the Union. The City shall remit the deducted dues to the <br />Union on a bi-weekly basis. <br /> <br />Upon voluntary request by the worker, the City will make a deduction for "COPE" along with other <br />deductions sent to the Union. <br /> <br />3.10 Hold Harmless <br /> <br />The Union agrees to indemnify, defend the City, and hold it harmless, from any and all claims, demands, <br />suits, or any other action that arise from the provisions of this agreement. <br /> <br /> <br />ARTICLE 4 - AGENCY SHOP <br /> <br />4.1 Duty of Fair Representation <br /> <br />6.3.B. - Page 14
