14 <br />14.5.5 Battalion Chiefs assigned to a shift schedule shall be paid overtime at a straight <br />time basis or shall receive up to one hundred and sixty-eight (168) hours as <br />administrative leave at the fifty-six (56) hour rate. Administrative leave not used <br />by December 31 shall be paid off at the straight time rate. <br /> <br /> 14.5.6 Battalion Chiefs shall have the right of first refusal for all hire backs to fill a <br />Battalion Chief's shift when the regularly scheduled Battalion Chief is on a City <br />authorized leave. Overtime hours earned under this hire back provision shall <br />be paid as Command Pay. Command pay shall be paid at the top rate of the <br />56-hour Battalion Chief salary range times 1.25 per hour. Overtime hours <br />earned under this hire back provision shall be paid in cash and not count toward <br />the one hundred sixty-eight hours (168) yearly overtime limit specified in Sections <br />14.5.5. <br /> <br />14.6 External Reimbursements <br /> <br />When external Federal or State funds are made available to the City to specifically fund or <br />reimburse COA unit overtime activities on a special project basis, such externally <br />reimbursed overtime shall not be counted toward the yearly one hundred twenty (120), one <br />hundred forty (140), or one hundred sixty-eight (168) hour overtime limit specified in <br />Sections 14.5.4, and 14.5.5. Additionally, when external Federal or State funds are made <br />available to the City to specifically reimburse COA work activities, COA unit members shall <br />be paid at the reimbursement rate or the rate prescribed by the MOU, whichever is greater. <br /> <br /> <br />6.3.B. - Page 95
