' ✓
Fiscal impact
Funds are appropriated for professional services in the 2004-2005 Agency budget
sufficient to fund this second amendment to the agreement. Funding will be split
between the Agency general budget and the Agency housing budget. As proposed,
this agreement would continue into the next fiscal year and would come back to the
Agency Board for further action when the not-to-exceed cap has been reached. At that
time the agreement would require another amendment if KMA services were still
needed.
Alternatives
1. Approve the agreement with a lower not-to-exceed cap. A consequence of this
alternative would be that the agreement would be presented to the board for
amendment with greater frequency.
2. Direct staff to seek proposals from other economic consultants.
Conclusion
Staff recommends this proposed amendment to the agreement with KMA in the amount
of $50,000. These funds will only be spent with direct authorization from the Agency
staff. In addition, the agreement will provide the staff with flexible economic consulting
resources during this period of intense development activity. Finally, KMA —
represented by Tim Kelly, as well as Debbie Kern in terms of housing — has provided
high quality assistance to the Agency for many years on a variety of complex projects.
 ,
% / /
 /
w. .Lu. -(a r'
Susan Moeller Joel tterson vere
Redevelopmerrt, Housing Community Development City Manager
& Economic Development Services Director
Manager
SFM:cje
vsnx, n zooaro9-2ooaistt-xnsn
Attachments
1.
