Mayor Ira Ruskin introduced Fire Chief Montez and Colima Lt. Ventura, who thanked the <br />City of Redwood City for nozzles, air equipment and other assistance over the past several <br />years. <br />b) Human Resources Award for Excellence for Innovations in Human Resources; <br />Mayor Ruskin commended the department for its efforts toward improvement and <br />achieving the award on their "Report Card ". <br />5. The Future of Our Water Supplies (Presentation); <br />Public Works Director Ingram introduced the Bay Area Water Users Association General <br />Manager Art Jensen. Mr. Jensen began his report using a PowerPoint demonstration that <br />coincided with the report transmitted previously. <br />Council questions included what the liklihood of future needs being met by San Francisco <br />are. <br />Public Comment. <br />Merrily Robinson, teacher at Kennedy Middle School, appreciates Stafford Park but her <br />concern is the fountain water is going down the drain and requested an irrigation reusage <br />program be contemplated for future projects. <br />Council Member Ira, Utilities Committee Chair, commended Public Works Director <br />Ingram and Public Works Superintendent Rosas on their work and ongoing status updates <br />to the committee. <br />M/S Ira/Jordan to acknowledge receipt of report by the Bay Area Water Users Association <br />(BAWUA) entitled The Future of Our Water Supplies, dated February 10", 2000 <br />(previously transmitted) and endorsement of the expectations. The motion passed by a <br />unanimous voice vote by those present. <br />B. Ordinance Adding Sections 18.244 through 18.256 to the City Code to Establish Citywide <br />Transportation Impact Fees; (continued from March 27", 2000) <br />Transportation Engineer Haygood introduced the sequence of reporting with the consultant <br />Jim. Daisa of Fehr & Peers to begin. Mr. Daisa indicated he was reporting back with a draft <br />of a fee schedule based on previous Council direction.
