EXHIBIT "A" SCOPE OF SERVICES A. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The Seaport Centre Levee Improvement Project is located at Seaport Centre off of Seaport Boulevard in the City of Redwood City. The Seaport Centre Maintenance District's levee system has been divided into six segments (Segments A, B, C, P, E and F) for planning purposes and consist of levee structures such as berms, CMU block walls, and roadway surfaces. New Base Flood Elevations (BFE) were established for areas neighboring the Seaport Centre office development after the release of the 2015 preliminary Federal Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for San Mateo County. The current levee protection system within Seaport Centre would lose accreditation with the adoption of the new BFE's. The entire Seaport Centre will be re -mapped as a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) when the preliminary FIRM becomes effective. In order to re -certify the Seaport Centre levee system, deficiencies of the current system will need to be corrected. Necessary remedial solutions include raising the entry to the development, raising the levees around the development, raising the ground at the boat dock area, and adding backflow prevention to outfall pipes for gap closures. B. BACKGROUND BKF Engineers and their subconsultants will prepare the plans, specifications, and calculations for approximately 9,900 feet of levee improvements in connection with the Seaport Centre Levee Improvement Project. Aside from Segment F, the designs for all other segments have been finalized in the 95% design documents prepared by BKF Engineers. For this reason, this project will be conducted in two phases: Phase I: 95% documents excluding Segment F Phase II: 100% documents for Segment F Phase III: Additional as -needed review This project involves design peer review services by a qualified engineering firm. C. SCOPE OF SERVICES The scope of engineering services described herein is the minimum necessary to meet the City's objectives. The consultant is expected to utilize their expertise in carrying out the services set forth herein. Wood Rodgers Inc.
