PHASE 1 (95% DOCUMENTS EXCLUDING SEGMENT F1 <br />TASK 1 — REVIEW DRAWINGS. CALCULATIONS AND SPECIFICATIONS <br />1.1 - Site Reconnaissance <br />Consultant shall conduct a short site visit and view the alignment of the proposed <br />improvements. <br />1.2 — Review <br />Consultant shall review the following in the design drawings, geotechnical report, <br />structural calculations and specifications: <br />a. Design freeboard — Consultant shall verify that the proposed levee/floodwall <br />meets freeboard requirements and defined in 44 CFR 65.10. The following cases <br />shall be verified: <br />i. The effective FIRMS <br />ii. The preliminary FIRMS <br />iii. Sea Level Rise <br />b. Design alignment closure — Consultant shall verify that the design provides flood <br />protection without the possibility of flanking. <br />c. Design closures — Consultant shall verify that the design meets closure <br />requirements defined in 44 CFR 65.10 for all penetrations of the flood control <br />system. <br />d. Embankment Protection — Consultant shall verify that the erosion protection <br />design can withstand the design base flood/wave conditions. <br />e. Embankment and Foundation Stability Analysis — Consultant shall conduct a <br />high level review of the design to see if the calculation methods meet <br />em ban kment/foundation stability and seepage calculation requirements as <br />defined by the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The structural <br />calculations for the CMU floodwalls shall be reviewed at a high level for the <br />governing design case. <br />The Consultant shall review and provide comments on the geotechnical report. <br />The Consultant shall prepare a structural plan check review on behalf of the City <br />for this project including the following: <br />i. Review structural calculation methodologies including stability <br />parameters and verify application to structural drawings. <br />ii. Prepare structural review plan check comments to calculations and <br />drawings. <br />f. Settlement Analysis — Consultant shall verify that the design methodology meets <br />the settlement criteria as defined by the USACE. The geotechnical report shall <br />be reviewed and commented on. <br />g. Interior Analysis — Consultant shall verify that the design meets the interior <br />drainage requirements as defined in 44 CFR 65.10. <br />REV: 01-27-17 PR <br />Page 11 of 15 <br />ATTY/AGR.2017.020ANood Rodgers, Inc. <br />
