<br /> - DES:d;k 11/07/89 (029/7) <br />this Division to implement the program established pursuant <br />to Chapter 12.2 (commencing with Section 8875) , Division 1, <br />Title 2, of the California Government Code. <br /> "Section 9.141. Definitions. For the purposes of this <br />Division (including the Appendices thereto) , the following <br />words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively <br />ascribed thereto: <br /> 'Civil Engineer' or 'Structural Engineer' means a <br /> licensed civil or structural engineer, respectively, <br /> registered by the State of California pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Chapter 5, Title 16, of the California <br /> Code of Regulations. <br /> 'Uniform Building Code' or 'UBC' means that Code <br /> bearing the same title adopted by reference pursuant to <br /> Section 9.40, as amended from time to time. <br /> 'Unreinforced Masonry Building' or 'URM' means any <br /> building containing walls and/or columns constructed <br /> wholly or partially with any of the following <br /> materials: (i) unrein forced brick masonry, ( ii) <br /> unreinforced concrete masonry, (iii) hollow clay tile, <br /> (iv) adobe or unburned clay masonry, or (v) stone <br /> masonry. <br /> 'Risk Categories' means categories of risks established <br />with reference to building use and/or occupancy as follows: <br /> 'Essential Building' means any building housing a <br /> hospital or other medical facility having surgery or <br /> emergency treatment areas; fire or police stations, and <br /> 6 <br /> 2004 <br />-- _. ~--,.'-, .. - - _..~ <br />
