Division 4 (commencing with Section 9.140) is <br />hereby added to Article IX of Chapter 9 of the Redwood City Code <br />to read as follows: <br /> "DIVISION 4. SEISMIC HAZARD IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM <br /> "Section 9.140. Purpose. The Council of Redwood City <br />having found, determined, and acknowledged that the City of <br />Redwood City is located in an area of high seismic risk due <br />to its proximity to both the San Andreas and Hayward seismic <br />faults, the provisions of this Division are enacted in <br />furtherance of the public health, safety and welfare. The <br />purpose of this Division is to establish a program pursuant <br />to which buildings in the City of Redwood City which exhibit <br />structural deficiencies in their capacities for earthquake <br />resistance shall be identified, and the potential for those <br />deficiencies to cause injury or loss of life or property <br />damage shall be determined.
