REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br /> <br />April 3, 2017 <br /> <br />SUBJECT <br />Final Acceptance – Sanitary Sewer Pump Station (P.S.) Improvements Project (Marina <br />P.S., P.S. Number 17 and P.S. Number 19) <br /> <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, accept the Sanitary Sewer Pump Station (P.S.) Improvements Project <br />(Marina P.S., P.S. Number 17 and P.S. Number 19) and authorize the release of bonds <br />and retention according to City procedures <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />On July 31, 2015, the City Council awarded the construction contract for the Sanitary <br />Sewer Pump Station (P.S.) Improvements Project (Marina P.S., P.S. Number 17 and <br />P.S. Number 19) to Casey Construction, Inc. of Emerald Hills, CA for a price of <br />$1,198,500.00. The project scope included rehabilitation of the three existing <br />sanitary sewer pump stations. <br />Specific project components included: <br />· Removal and replacement of existing mechanical and electrical structures; <br />· Rehabilitation and repair of an existing wet well; <br />· Furnishing, installation of a temporary by-pass system, <br />· Replacement of submersible pumps, motor control center (MCC); <br />· Installation of a complete 80KW generator; <br />· Connection of pump stations to existing force mains. <br />Associated work included mobilization, demobilization, traffic controls, notification, <br />furnishing and installation of project signs, work in conjunction with the National Pollutant <br />Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program and other incidentals, saw-cutting, <br />pavement removal and trenching, sheeting, shoring and bracing, dewatering, backfill, <br />controlled density fill, base compaction, sidewalk restoration, landscape restoration, and <br />asphalt and concrete pavement restoration work. <br /> <br />ANALYSIS <br />The contract was awarded for a base bid of $1,198,500.00. The project was successfully <br />completed in accordance with the plans and specifications. Change orders were issued <br />6.2.A. - Page 1
