Change orders were due to unforeseen field <br />conditions that resulted in additional work requested by the City that was not within the <br />original scope of work, but was necessary to complete the project. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />The City Council may choose not to accept the project and/or authorize the release of <br />bonds and retention. However, this would be contrary to the terms of the contract, prior <br />Council action, and the public contracting code. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Sufficient funding for this contract was previously approved as Sewer Fund Capital <br />Projects for Marina Pump Station, Pump Station Number 17 and Pump Station Number <br />19. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />As the lead agency, City of Redwood City has determined that acceptance of Sanitary <br />Sewer Pump Station Improvements Project (Marina P.S., P.S. Number 17 and P.S. <br />Number 19) does not constitute a Project as defined under CEQA. Furthermore, the <br />construction of the project meets the CEQA exemption criteria in Section 15302 <br />(Replacement or reconstruction of existing facilities). <br /> <br />JOEL B.
