NOTICE INVITING BIDS <br />2016-2017 SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF BATTERY BACK-UP SYSTEMS 5 of 12 <br />specified delivery date. When necessary, heavy parts shall be mounted on skids or crated, and <br />all articles or materials that might otherwise be lost shall be boxed or wired in bundles. All <br />articles shall be plainly marked for identification and destination. The Bidder shall prepare <br />proper commercial bills of lading 2 copies of which, together with a complete shipping list, <br />shall be sent to Redwood City Public Works, 1400 Broadway Street, Redwood City, CA <br />94063. <br /> <br />14. SHIPPING WEIGHT <br />Each Bidder shall state in his or her bid the total shipping weight, listing and segregating the <br />individual unit weights and shipping weights, if F.O.B. point of shipment. <br /> <br />15. DELIVERIES; DISTANCE; EXTENSION OF TIME <br />"Delivery" is defined as complete delivery and installation of battery back-up systems, free <br />and clear from any and all defects, claims, debts or demands whatsoever to various <br />intersections in Redwood City, CA. <br /> <br />The Bidder’s Bid Submission will specify the maximum number of days till delivery to <br />Redwood City, example: 60 days from the date the City mails the purchase order to the <br />successful Bidder. Date ranges are not allowed, example: 90-120 days from the date the City <br />mails the purchase order to the successful Bidder. <br /> <br />In the event the battery back-up system has not been delivered and installed within the <br />specified maximum number of days till delivery to Redwood City, the contract between the <br />successful Bidder and the City may be considered null and void. <br /> <br />Applications for extension of time beyond the specified maximum number of days till delivery <br />to Redwood City shall be made in writing to the City Contact not more than 7 calendar days <br />from the beginning of any condition, which will cause delay. Allowances will be made for <br />delays of delivery due to strikes, fires, floods or other causes not due to the fault or negligence <br />of the Bidder. <br /> <br />In the event a successful Bidder fails to provide the battery back-up system within the time <br />specified and the contract is cancelled, the City may enter into an agreement with the next <br />lowest Bidder for delivery of the specified supplies in this document. <br /> <br />16. ERRORS AND OMISSIONS <br />The Bidder will not be allowed to take advantage of any error or omission in their Submitted <br />Bid. <br /> <br />17. FEDERAL AND STATE TAXES <br />The prices bid shall include any Federal tax, exclusive of Federal Excise Tax heretofore <br />imposed by Congress, which is applicable to the material to be furnished. If any sales tax, <br />processing tax, adjustment charge or other taxes or charges are imposed or changed by <br />Congress after the date set for opening bids and made applicable directly upon the production, <br />manufacture or sale of the supplies to be furnished, and are paid by the Supplier on the articles <br />or supplies furnished, then the prices stated in the schedules will be increased or decreased <br />accordingly, and any amounts due the Supplier as the result of such changes will be charged <br />to the City and added on vouchers (or invoices) as separate items. <br />6.1.B. - Page 14
