7.7 Section - Ordinances (second readings) <br />Community Development Director Nelson explained that in adopting the urgency ordinances <br />on July 24, Council directed staff to prepare interim development standards, which would <br />address the major issues presented regarding office development and conversion. She stated the <br />August 28, 2000 meeting would include discussion of all requests including consideration of <br />some new measures to put into place. The full progress report was included in the Council <br />agenda packet. <br />A. M/S Hartnett/Claire to adopt INTERIM URGENCY ORDINANCE 2198 PROHIBITING <br />OFFICE DEVELOPMENT ON PARCELS OF PROPERTY ONE ACRE OR LARGER <br />WITHIN THE "CG" (GENERAL COMMERCIAL), "CG -R" (GENERAL COMMERCIAL - <br />RESIDENTIAL COMBINING), "CB" (CENTRAL BUSINESS), AND "CN" <br />(NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL) ZONING DISTRICTS IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY; (introduced on 7/24/00) (6 votes required) and (301) <br />A. i.) Progress report on Interim Urgency Ordinances. <br />B. M/S Hartnett/Claire INTERIM URGENCY ORDINANCE 2199 PROHIBITING LAND <br />USES IN CONFLICT WITH GENERAL PLAN, SPECIFIC PLAN, AND ZONING <br />PROPOSALS UNDER CONSIDERATION FOR HEREIN DESCRIBED AREA LOCATED <br />IN THE VICINITY OF MAPLE STREET, EAST BAYSHORE BOULEVARD, AND BAIR <br />ISLAND ROAD IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY (introduced on 7/24/00); <br />(6 votes required) and (301) <br />B. i.) Progress report on Interim Urgency Ordinances (same as report on 7.7 Ad.). <br />The motion passed by a majority roll call vote with Council Member Jordan voting no. <br />REDEVELOPMENT AGENCYMEETING (See Separate Minutes) <br />8. BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS — <br />A. Senior Health Care Status Update and Request for Council Support; (209) <br />Leo Walsh, Senior Affairs Commission Member, gave an update on the situation of health <br />care for seniors. He stated the senior community of Redwood City has continued to lose <br />confidence in the entire health care system.
