SWC:sh 5/16/86
SWC:djc 5/19/86R
determine as necessary to mitigate traffic impacts caused by
the Project and other developments.
(3 ) A comprehensive strategic transportation planning
study by Crain and Associates shall serve as the basis for
the implementation of further Transportation Systems
Management Measures or infrastructure changes which may be
determined necessary as a result of this Project and others.
(f) Approval of the Project, together with other
developments currently proposed in the eastside traffic corridor,
will allow the occurrence of certain significant effects
identified in the final EIR which cannot reasonably or feasibly
be mitigated, to wit: the estimated effects of vehicular traffic
generated by the Project. (Draft EIR, pp. 18-41) .
(g) Changes or alterations have been or will be required
in, and incorporated into, the Project which substantially lessen
the significant environmental effects as identified in the final
EIR. The EIR and supplemental traffic studies, as well as the
analyses of the Planning Department staff, have identified a
range of mitigation measures which will further substantially
lessen the significant environmental impacts identified in the
draft EIR and which will be incorporated generally in the
Project. As a result, the applicant has or will be required to
mitigate the traffic impacts of the Project to the fullest extent
feasible. Various possible mitigation measures are set forth in
the Draft EIR, pp. 18-41 and various traffic studies prepared for
this and other projects. Engineering solutions will also be
employed to reduce traffic impacts.
8
,.--
