the payment of such double fee shall not relieve <br />any persons from fully complying with requirements <br />of this Code in the execution of the work nor from <br />any other penalties prescribed herein. <br />"'(b) When plans and specifications or other data are <br />required to be submitted pursuant to subsection (c) <br />of Section 302 of the Building Code, a plan review <br />fee shall be paid at the time of such submission. A <br />presite inspection fee shall be paid at the time the <br />application for a building permit is filed. The plan <br />review fee or the presite inspection fee shall be <br />charged at the rate of sixty-five (65) per cent of <br />the building permit fee as determined by the provisions <br />of Section 304(a) of the Building Code. <br />"'(c) Applications for which no permit is issued <br />within 180 days following the date of application <br />shall expire by limitation and plans and other data <br />submitted for review may thereafter be returned to <br />the applicant or destroyed by the building official. <br />The building official may extend the time for action <br />by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180 days <br />upon request by the applicant showing that circum- <br />stances beyond the control of the applicant have <br />prevented action from being taken. No application <br />shall be extended more than once. In order to renew <br />action on an application after expiration, the <br />applicant shall resubmit plans and pay a new plan <br />review fee. <br />I'V(d) Application submitted to the building department <br />requesting inspection for the purpose of determining <br />compliance with City Building, Housing, Plumbing, <br />Electrical and Mechanical Codes shall be accompanied <br />by a nonrefundable fee for such service computed in <br />accordance with the following schedule: <br />111(1) Forty-five dollars ($45.00) for each detached <br />single-family dwelling. <br />111(2) Forty-five dollars ($45.00) plus ten dollars <br />($10.00) for each additional unit for duplexes <br />and multi -family dwelling units."' <br />"Section'9.43 Section 308 is hereby added to the 'Building <br />Code to read as follows: <br />"'Section 308 (a) No building permit or certificate of <br />occupancy shall be issued by the Building Official if <br />the structure to be constructed or altered or the parcel <br />of property in connection with which the permit or <br />certificate is applied for fails to comply in any <br />respect with the provisions of the following ordinances <br />or provisions of the Code of the City of Redwood City <br />as they now exist or as they may be from time to time <br />amended: <br />(1) Articles VI, Vil, and VIII of Chapter 9 <br />of the Code of the City of Redwood City <br />(Mechanical Code, Plumbing Code, Electrical <br />Code, respectively). <br />111(2) Article II of Chapter 12 of the Code of the <br />City of Redwood City (Fire Prevention). <br />
