Home prices are high by <br />regional standards, but have been falling in recent months. <br />•Population:Redwood City has been growing faster (12% since 2010) than the County (7%) <br />or Bay Area (7%).a <br />•Income:Among California’s largest cities, Redwood City has the 9th highest per capita <br />personal income ($51,865). Nationwide, it’s rank is 23rd . <br />•Earnings:Median earnings are also high in Redwood City ($55,657), but there are large <br />gaps between the earnings of men and women within educational categories (up to 50% <br />differences). <br />•Poverty:Despite high per capita incomes, poverty rates, both overall (9.8%) and among <br />children (13.2%) are high in comparison to the County and the Bay Area. <br />•Age:The median age in Redwood City is just 37, as opposed to 40 for the County as a <br />whole and 38 for the Bay Area.
