Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program EXHIBIT B
Page 25 of 26
ATTY/RESO.0042/CC RESO CALIFORNIA WAY WATER TANK, PUMP STATION AND PIPELINE PROJECT
REV: 05-03-17 PR df
IMPACT NOI-1:
Construction activities could
expose the public to noise
levels in excess of standards
established in the City’s
General Plan and/or Noise
Ordinance.
Mitigation Measure NOI-2: Impact tools
(e.g., jackhammers, pavement breakers, and
rock drills), if used for project construction,
shall be hydraulically or electrically
powered wherever possible to avoid noise
associated with compressed-air exhaust
from pneumatically powered tools.
However, where use of pneumatic tools is
unavoidable, an exhaust muffler on the
compressed-air exhaust shall be used; such
mufflers can lower noise levels from the
exhaust by up to 10 dBA. External jackets
on the tools themselves shall be used where
feasible, which could achieve a reduction of
5 dBA. Quieter procedures shall be used,
Implementation:
The City shall
incorporate this
noise mitigation
measure into all
appropriate bid,
contract, and
engineering and site
plan (e.g. building,
grading,
improvement plans)
documents.
Timing: Prior to
any ground-
disturbing activities,
Monitoring: The City’s
Engineering Division
shall review all
appropriate bid,
contract, and
engineering and site
(building, grading,
improvement plans)
documents for inclusion
of this noise reduction
measure.
The City shall
periodically inspect the
site to ensure the
construction process
Initials:
Date: 8.A. - Page 32
