CGM:bc:7/12/79R <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> 1 792 AUG 6 1979 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1792 <br /> --------- <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 14.19, 14.20, AND 14.31 <br />OF AND REPEALING SECTIONS 14.32, 14.33, AND 14.34 <br />OF THE REDWOOD CITY CODE RELATING TO GARBAGE COLLECTION <br />SERVICES <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION l. Section 14.19 of the Code of the City of <br />Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"Section 14.19. The city council may let contracts or <br />enter into agreements with any person for the removal of <br />garbage, rubbish or waste matter and for this purpose may <br />license such person. Each such licensee shall give a bond <br />payable to the city in the sum of fifty thousand dollars <br />conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties <br />imposed by this chapter and the terms of any contract <br />or agreement entered into with the city." <br />SECTION 2. Section 14.20 of the Code of the City of <br />Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"Section 14.20. A contract or agreement with the city, <br />authorizing the contractor to remove garbage, rubbish or <br />waste matter, shall also require that the contractor <br />procure for the period covered by the proposed contract <br />full compensation insurance with an insurer as defined by <br />and in accordance with section 3211 of the Labor Code of <br />the state. Such contract shall also require that the <br />contractor carry public liability insurance to the extent <br />of five hundred thousand dollars for the death or injury <br />to one person, and one million dollars for the death or <br />injury of more than one person, and property damage <br />insurance to the extent of five hundred thousand dollars <br />upon each of the trucks or other vehicles used by him in <br />carrying out of the work called for in the contract; such <br /> 1 792 <br /> ro' <br />
