<br /> for commercial purposes. <br /> " (h) Owner. Member of the household or business <br /> where an animal is being kept, or a designated agent of <br /> that household. <br /> " (i) Person. Includes any person, firm, association, <br /> organization, partnership, business trust, corporation or <br /> company. <br /> " (j ) Animal Control Officer. Any Animal Control <br /> Officer, Humane Officer, or other officer employed by the <br /> Department of Animal Control whose duties relate to enforce- <br /> ment of the provisions of this chapter. <br /> " (k) City Collector. The Director of Finance or his <br /> authorized representative, or the San Mateo County Tax <br /> Collector, when so designated by the Council." <br /> SECTION 16. Section 5.1.1 is hereby added to the Code of <br /> the City of Redwood City to read as follows: <br /> "Section 5. 1. 1. Chief of Animal Control. ( a) Responsi- <br /> bility. The Chief of Animal Control is responsible for the <br /> enforcement of the provisions of this chapter and his duties <br /> shall include, but not be limited to, the following: <br /> " (1) To administer the Animal Control Center and <br /> keep such records as may be required by law <br /> or by contract; <br /> " (2) To take up and impound animals which are in <br /> violation of the provisions of this chapter, <br /> or for the safe keeping of the animal to <br /> protect its health and welfare; <br /> " (3) To remove and dispose of the carcass of any <br /> animal found on any public highway, street, <br /> or alley or other place; <br /> " (4) To quarantine animals and to cooperate with <br /> the Health Officer with respect to such quarantine. <br /> " (b) Authority to Arrest. In the performance of their <br /> duties the Chief of Animal Control and those officers who <br /> - 3 - <br /> ....,. <br />
